Well, playoff Dray. Dray has taken almost every possession off the last three regular seasons.

I agree though on Horford. I almost want to say his screening alone is worth that contract.

Raul Neto has quietly been a good two way player for a couple seasons now, O’Quinn is really solid big who isn’t just a rim runner. Very similar to Nene or David West at the end, good passer, screener and defender who can play the pick and pop game.

Ennis has lapses but is one of the highest motor players in the league, and Thybulle came out of nowhere as an all-league type defender.

I don’t even think an injury to any one non-Embiid player would take them out of contending.

Yeah very glad I picked them to win the title. I don’t think any offense in the league is capable of scoring on them, certainly not in the East. I haven’t counted it out but they may have 5 of the best 25 Or so defensive players in the league. Their bench this year compared to last year is night and day.

Ennis’ motor is amazing except when it leaves him too far out of position to do anything, which is like 60% of possessions aha. He’s over-active but with coaching he might get there.

This is the Raptors all over again or the 04 Pistons. They can win a title just grinding games out 93-87.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised to see them with a -8ish defense at year-end. They got positive and smart defenders across the roster. Will be hell scoring against them.

The quality of Houston's defensive personnel has deteriorated so badly over the last couple of years. That 2017-18 team had CP3, Tucker, Ariza, Mbah a Moute... I'm struggling to see how this current group is going to stop anyone on a consistent basis.

Playoff Horford has been a thing too at least the last few years. Not saying he's better than playoff Draymond but he also didn't have the luxury of playing with Steph, Klay, Iggy and Kd.

Looks like the Rockets had a late night on Saturday. Getting absolutely obliterated, down by 32!!!!! after the first quarter.

Harden's jumper continues to be completely busted, 1-5 on threes so far.

Raptors still had an all-time scorer tho. I don't think Embiid is that guy and still has durability/conditioning issues to consider.

Raptors had Siakam, Kawhi, Marc, Danny, Serge, Lowry, Fvv on defense too prolly just as deep but without the higher end defensive talent

I'm guessing those 5 defenders are Embiid, Horford, Simmons, Richardson and Thybulle. Tobias is prolly their only poor defender. He plays a lot like a poor man's Melo TBH

Only bought it up cause People are blaming the season on Westbrook when he has had more "Decent " games then harden. Their problem is that their offense is too reliant on threes and neither one of their guards play defense. Their whole team is negative tonight. They have no defense besides Tucker .

Westbrook was a -46 in 26 minutes.

As a fan of a perennial tanking team I don’t think I’ve ever seen defense this bad in Houston.

This is probably the worst defense of all-time so far.

Neither of these guys really fight through screens. I didn't even watch the game but I'd bet that Miami just picked them to death. They probably had a late night out in Miami too.

Why is the Jazz offense so bad? Their top players aren't really bad offensive players.

Clips look unimpressive af tonight, need PG back asap. Kawhi forgot how to shoot this game.

For all the hoorah that the Clips role players get, they're still role players at the end of the day.

that's what happens when you put two players in the back court that are absolutely useless off-ball

they need to stagger more, and really just get better.

Just looking at their depth chart, I'd say they need way more defensive roleplayers. Do they even have anybody besides Tucker and Capela who is neutral at best defensively? Russ calls himself the best defender at the 1 in the league, but he rarely played any real defense in the last decade or so. He did to start the season last year, but that trailed off as the season progressed.

It's 7 games in, Conley looked terrible most games so far, and they were only the 15th ranked offense last year so they weren't far above average anyway. They'll get back to around league average by the end of the season.

Yeah, not to be too harsh cause I like the dude, but it's mostly just been Conley being that bad (in terms of the offense being bad and not average). Team wide turnover problems as well (Conley in particular actually, having a really tough time getting it to Gobert in good spots rolling to the rim).
