If I re-up for 3 years, 5 years, how do we get these players to come here, how do we get these players to want to come here ?

MLSE brash should be saying

we grow the game in canada, we shove basketball down our viewer's throats instead of giving them curling on the main channels

I think he was just referring to Year 7 being done, so he uses the past tense for it. I don't think I have ever seen a FA-to-be ever publicly say he is back (before signing the contract).

That's answered almost entirely by him staying and/or developing a superstar in house that attracts another star.

I've been very critical of Masai's deadline moves, but make no mistake: the path to FA success lies heavenly on his rep and accomplishments. All of that disappears if he moves on. He must be kept at all costs.

Dismissing the FA possiblity because Giannis zigged when every other superstar zagged in this era is very shortsighted. The Spurs were on the list for guys like Aldridge for a reason and it isn't the Riverwalk.

It looks like a opportunity to dip imho. A-la the Heat.

It's right on time too, as per the "plan" that leaked a few years back. They don't even have to win in NY for him to build his brand, just compete. I'm just speculating, but if they get bounced early he's probably out before the media turns on him.

If I'm Masai, i'm asking MLSE for new commentators and broadcasters calling/analyzing the game. Enough with the old white men calling and talking about the game of basketball.

I also want an increased budget to hire more women/POC in the organization. Would love to see women on the raptors coaching staff.

Finally, I want an equal share of marketing money/exposure as the Maple Leafs.

Let's not bring race into this. And for the record, we had Brittni Donaldson on coaching staff.

FFS do you need to bring race into the discussion? Don't we have enough of that already on the news? Fyi an old white guy invented the game..

I agree! Garbage post! I'm all for diversity but if you're calling for white people to be removed just cause they're white you're a racist! Gtfo

If he was going to walk, I don't think you go into detail like the way he did.

MLSE would be stupid not to listen and invest more time/money. Masai wants to improve the brand that just means a better return for them $$$

Agreed just don’t trust MLSE

I dunno. Normally I'd agree but they've been making the right moves the last 5 years or so. All of their teams have been successful on and off the field. Raps, Leafs (relatively by leaf standards) and TFC.

All because if Tim L. .
I could easily see masai joining him in seattle

Although I believe his goal is to win it again and not be racially discriminated at the peak of his career.

This all based on my opinion. I dont know Masai.

Sounds like Masai is the next one from 2019 on his way out also. Where? I dont know. I just find that Masai is thinking more about options elsewhere then he is looking at the home he had for years. Because people this unsure, and open about it, are usually people with a foot in the door and are waiting for a good opportunity to come along that gives them that push out.

That's honestly your opinion and for the record I never said I supported them or didn't ...I was calling out the poster for wanting to get rid of them based solely on the fact that they're old white guys which sounds pretty racist to me ..

That's subjective, but a completely valid reason to want a different broadcast team. The colour of their skin, or their age shouldn't/can't have anything to do with it; this is protected under the Canadian charter of rights.

Just listened to the whole thing. Good listen but nothing of substance was revealed, mostly same old talking points. What I took:

His Future: He's evaluating. Money not main focus. Leaving for Africa soon, will discuss with MLSE later. Tanenbaum is great.
Team Displacement: Tampa was incredible, support was great, but was big disadvantage for us. Bubble was amazing.
Covid: Peaked in 4th place but outbreak hurt the team a lot, resulted in terrible 1-13 stretch. Zero option to play in Toronto.
Regrets: Maybe look for a different type of big player (than Baynes & Len?)
Play-in: Weigh against develop young guys and give better chance of higher pick. That word (tanking) is a one year situation.
Draft: Studying it all year. Continue to evaluate. Can't reveal his secrets.

You’re in the minority. Most people don’t have a problem with Matt and Jack.

You all need to get league pass. It will make you re-evaluate your thoughts on our broadcast crew. They really are top 10.

Man I think there is going to be a real bidding war that emerges if MLSE isn't able to lock him up now.
