With the Dodgers interested in both Ramirez and Greinke. Wouldn't mind a package centered around Dee Gordon and Allen Webster

Dempster is close to being moved to Atlanta.

Dee Gordon blows. Let the Dodgers keep him and think he's good.

I'm going to assume Dee Gordon is a good defensive player because of his speed, but yes, on offense, he sucks. No thanks.

UZR/150 has him at -23.1. DRS has him -16. He's terrible all around.

Total Disagree...He has always show he can hit, Just a down year, needs to have a better eye at the plate...... Fielding is suspect

His best year was as a 20 year old (a couple years older than most players) in Ogden of the Pioneer League. Even there he only had an .802 OPS. He couldn't break an .800 OPS in freakin' Alburquerque. That entire conference (Albuquerque, Colorado Springs, Reno, Salt Lake City, Tacoma, Fresno, Las Vegas, Sacramento and Tucson) is a hitters paradise.

Edit: Caleb Gindl who most view as a fringe starting outfielder/4th outfielder hit had a 1.000 OPS in the Pioneer League and he was two years younger than Gordon when he played there.

Actually his dWAR and UZR suck, so he's not good on defense either.

Dempster going to the Braves. Possibly for Randall Delgado, BA's 46th best prospect. One less suitor and if Delgado is in the trade, that's a great deal for the Cubs.

If the Cubs get Delgado it means we could have as well. Dempster isn't signed past this year.

Which is why I wanted the Brewers to sell a long time ago. Here we are, waiting. Other teams are getting other pitchers while Melvin and Attanasio are still wondering whether or not we can get back in the race. If we sell first, we have teams going against each other trying to get Greinke and we're the first to pick the best package.

Supposedly the Brewers still are not prepared to deal Greinke. If its Delgado goes to the cubs and we could have had the same deal, that is really really a bad play on Melvin and/or Attanasio.

Takes one pitcher off the market, may set the rate for a guy like Greinke.

Yeah, we can go back to the thread when Theo went to the Cubs and I was the maverick supporting him. Everyone else thought he'd go out and give $80 million to John Lackey to try to rebuild. Guy knows what he's doing, but when the owner gives you a blank check and the expectation is to win your 3rd World Series, you massively overpay John Lackey.

You'd had to think demp brings back a better package than Greinke. Both are half season rentals, but Demp is having a better year, doesn't poop his pants on the road, isn't a total nut job, and gives you a slightly better chance at re-signing in the off season to a fair salary.

The Braves wanted Greinke more, from all reports. We could have gotten Delgado.

Said it on brewerfan.net but I'd also be willing to trade our 2nd round pick to improve the offers from other teams.

Garza for Zach Lee being rumored. That would give the Cubs #46 and #62 on BA's top 100.
