Again, I don't imagine Hornacek will want him around long given what he has now shown and the importance of chemistry to this team's success. However, S&T will not net us the best possible assets because the other team will need to want to pay him $14M+ and give up assets. The QO is obviously not a good option either since we could lose him for nothing or have to get scraps mid-season in desperation.

The best option is to force him to take the four year contract then treat him like a short-term stock. Wait until his value is high and someone with assets is desperate for a good guard and unload.

The tweet I originally linked to was deleted for some reason. Anyway, it was announced that Tucker would be suspended for the first 3 games of the season by the NBA for pleading guilty to the DUI.

I think it's probably reasonable to emphasize the clear distinction in what Sarver said. He has not spoken to Eric in 4 months. He says nothing about speaking to or negotiating with his agent. Eric has said all along that his agent is handling contract talks. There were earlier reports of negotiations going on so I assume Babby and McDonough have been in contact with Paul at least a couple of times this off-season.

3 games for PJ.

Thats pretty weak. They gave J-Rich a light punishment like that also.

AND he always burns the pants off the Suns when he plays them.

If it's true that playing under the QO erases bird rights then it's in the teams best interest to play ball and get something for him now. I know the "emphasis is on Eric and his agent to find a deal," but if I'm the Suns I'm quietly gauging interest from cash strapped teams looking for an upgrade at the point right now.

Let's hope 20 pts 10 assists by Steve Nash on Christmas Day. [He needs to stay healthy tho.]

Listened to an NBA radio interview with one of the Pistons writers. He did mention Phoenix as a potential S&T partner, and did mention that a position of need for them is PG despite the presence of Jennings.

Nightmare situations would be if he gets injured or if he becomes this year's Josh Smith.

so with the Tucker suspension will the plan be to start Warren the first three games and see what he can do? little trial by fire perhaps? Or will they go with Marcus?

I highly doubt it. I think McMo gets the job while Tucker sits.

I believe Warren will get the start. Its a good opportunity to show the kid what this league is about, and we in turn get to see what he is really made of. Alot of teams use the first week or so of games to test out their rookies/new FA's to see where everyone is with their game. Teams havent got into their groove yet and are still trying to figure out their rotations, so its the perfect time to try out the new guys.

Yea I'd prefer to see Warren start those 3 games than Marcus.
