Doesn't like putting a ball inside them, but he makes sure that ball touches every goddamn part of the rim before it curls out.

He didn't do well on offense but sometimes guys miss shots. What was great was all the backdoor cuts he gave up. Oubre giveth and then giveth some more.

Oubre was tough to watch. He had as many smart plays as he had blown kisses.

The team has honestly played great so far. I’m still waiting for Curry to join the party. But whatever, I won’t be a downer. Good overall win for the good guys.

The Mitten making a statement tonight. Very happy to see all our undrafted guys doing so well.

He’s so bad. Sometimes Westbrook reminds me of a more talented version of oubre and vice versa. Not a good thing

FNQ,

You have access to a lot of this data, right? What is Wiggins most efficient game? Is he better off shooting when given room to shoot or is he more efficiency taking it to the rack? Are we assuming a result not in evidence when we harp on him taking Js instead of driving?

I’m curious what the math actually looks like on his game. Clearly he believes that he should take long jumpers when the defense is challenging him to knock them down. I’m curious how that compares to his rate converting drives/assists/getting to the free throw line when he takes that open space to attack with a head of steam. We all believe he should be choosing the latter but Inwonder what his actual results over time say.

I thought poole had one of his better defensive games. He was really good on the ball.

Not at home, but I still do have access from work CPU.

Warrior history? Just last year? Or overall history (I think data goes back to 2017)

And when you say given room to shoot, do you mean open jumpers (3ft+ of space) or jumpers in general?

He's getting sneakily better as he makes less and less dumb mistakes, like taking himself out of the play to try and block a 3

Defensive rotations improving too. Still gets at least one earful from Dray a game, but there's definitely some improvement. Not good, but average is well within reason this season

I'm more concerned about his jumper being off left-right than anything else right now. And when that starts happening, what cures it?

Late in the game he had a towel over his head and sat with such a pronounced slouch I bet he had to get back treatment after the game. Not the "homecoming" he was hoping to have.

Oubre scored a lot this season, even coming off the bench. Must be the fact he wants to use that thing between his ears tonight got him into trouble again.

I feel bad for Hornets fans because they really do have some great pieces in LaMelo, Hayward and Bridges.. PJ and Cody are fine too, and I like the long-term outlook for Kai Jones. But then they brought in Oubre and drafted Bouknight.. Oubre we know is a team killer, but Bouk is just a lanky Monta who's going to have trouble with his handles facing up defenders. They would have looked so much better if they drafted Moody, Duarte, Murphy or Sengun in that spot. Garuba too IMO, but I'd imagine they dont want to roll the dice on another non-scoring big after having Biyombo for so long

But they've done the hard part, they have their superstar. They have a guy who can be a 3rd or so most important player on the team (Bridges). And Hayward *can* be the #2 as well.. but the roster construction below the top 3 is bit tough to figure out. Still, think they will likely turn a corner sooner than later, and hopefully they can weather the Oubre storm and maybe coax more out of Bouknight than I see in him. Still just over the moon that we didnt wind up with him

I don't think Oubre is comfortable playing at the pace we push with our defense. He's not used to having the defender get to his catch and shoot 3s as quickly as we do and he's not used to having a 2nd defender collapse every time he puts the ball on the floor. Heading across the country and only having to face us twice a year will be good for his season.

That's gotta be the most dominant defensive performance by a 15th man I have ever seen. Doesn't hurt that he plays really smart and well on offense either. What an absolute stud. He also has a Westbrookish way of playing way bigger than he is.

Are people trashing his defense? I feel he's been pretty good this year. Not a stopper, but very rarely am I saying 'wow blown assignment by Poole.' Said that a lot last year.

This game in one play: in the third quarter, my wife asked how the Warriors got such an open layup. I rewound the video saying I think it was five out spacing and a great screen, but it was GPII in the corner and Draymond a bit inside the three point line, and Oubre guarding GPII, so Dray just motions to GPII to cut to the basket while Oubre has his head turned, and Oubre is totally lost on the cut and GPII gets a layup. Perfect illustration for my wife of how bad Oubre is at off ball defense and how much better the Warriors are this year because no Oubre, plus explaining basic principles of spacing, plus showing that Draymond has excellent BBIQ while Oubre has none.

I'm sure it made me happier to explain it than it did for my wife to hear it, but damn it's fun to watch bball done right. My soul is so much happier this year. When they finally get it together and have a good game, they're gonna be awesome.
