Everyone is focusing on the LAWS that were broken or not broken and ignoring the CBA and team rules.

Why are people stating this as a fact? Giannis doesn't need a gun. I didn't even really like Ja prior to these incidents and definitely not cheering for any time soon.

Like I'm totally on-board for a 50 game suspension if he brought a gun on a team plane (especially after the pacers incident). I just hate when posters type things as fact when it is pure speculation.

Yup, and even if those weren't broken this is not good for anyone involved (Team, NBA, sponsors, players). Nike just had to drop Kyrie. If Ja does something gun related, they are gonna have to drop him to. At that point, NIKE is going to second guess giving out huge long-term shoe deals. I can't see guys like Tatum, Giannis, and LBJ, who all appear to be good guys and keeping their nose clean, being happy watching these shoe deals get smaller to cover the risk for these sponsors. Breaking gun rules/laws should be redline issues that that even in the player's association won't fight for you as it will be against their long-term interests.

It's worse than that.

Its a slap in the face to the millions out here with actual mental illnesses. Many of which are dealing with it absent adequate care. Many more who cannot function in society because of it.

This doesn't bring awareness to their plight. It cheapens it.

Perhaps Morant does indeed have a mental issue for which he needs help. I just feel this is more of a ploy to deflect attention from just plain bad decision making.

When you see another human or animal, we had to see whether that other being was a threat to our life. Same with eating certain plants, seeds, or berries, we had to make a judgement on whether it was safe to eat.

People with high status tend to be given the benefit of the doubt in situations where someone with lower status would be treated suspiciously.....

Ja can benefit from a strong figure in his life, like John Lucas (the dad).
Lucas is someone who has been through a ton in his life and pivoted before completely losing everything, which it seems Ja is headed.

Lucas isn’t a saint nor is he perfect by any means , but he has seemingly brought back some discipline in his life and has been a good mentor for a few troubled NBA players.
