So, Calipari recruits the most talented players, then intentionally coaches them badly in the tournament in order to teach them motivation and to take nothing for granted and that hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard before they get drafted, and then they all overachieve in the NBA relative to their college careers as a result, which in turn increases UK's profile and ability to continue recruiting the top talent? The man is a genius.
All human life on the earth is like grass, and all human glory is like a flower in a field. The grass dries up and its flower falls off, but the Lord’s word endures forever.

I feel bad for Kentucky fans. UK has basically turned into an AAU, glorified G League/NBA minor league basketball program since hes gotten there. Just pump out players to the pros annually and have to restock with more one and done 5 star blue chip players, normally only there for yr or 2. They build no continuity. They stay young, loaded with freshmen, sophomores every season.
Its no wonder they lose very often to the mid majors ( usually tons of juniors and seniors with great team chemistry) and other veteran teams during the regular season and tournaments (NIT and NCAA).

He is a **** coach. His offense really doesn't make the guards look good or feature the skill players. I don't ever remember seeing Maxey Quickley or other guys look good playing for him. I don't think he knows how to use the talent he has.

A team can have too much talent. There is only one ball, and when three or four 18 year-olds are fighting for touches, it can lead to hero ball and poor offensive execution.

Also, some of these McDonalds blue chippers are not known for their defense.

Not gonna read this whole thread, so sorry if this was already posted, but…

This Gohlke guy for Oakland that took down Kentucky has an amazing stat line for the season:

He’s taken 347 3’s for the season, almost ten a game, and is shooting a respectable 37+%.

He’s taken **8** two point shots for the season!

Kansas, with all of it's blue chippers, should have been knocked off as well, saved by terrible officiating. Does that mean that Bill Self is a lousy coach?

FAU has been problematic all season, had some really awful loses and their defensive efficiency fell off a cliff compared to last year.

his philosophy is to showcase the players for the nba. that is his promise.

so he hunts for all the elites 1done players, so he has to make good on his promises and of course there's a heirarchy involved. so if you're eric bledsoe who's #12 at your position, you get the short end of the stick because calipari is going to let #1 john wall play as much as he wants

if you're devn booker the harrison twins get all the minutes

also,,,calipari's teams have only gone as far as whether they had the #1 player in the country, which i believe were rose, ad, and wall.

there was an article that came out several years ago, i'd say early teens, where some nba scouts said KY players were the worst prepared/coached they'd ever seen. cal just rolls the ball onto the floor

When other team's leading scorer shoots nothing but 3s and you didn't have a plan for him? When the other team is known for playing zone and your talented team had no plans to break that zone effectively? When all of this was freely available on the internet to a nobody like me and you're paid $8.5m per year to do that along with a bevy of assistants who could have done that for you?

YES that makes you a terrible coach.

Same! Northwestern is a good school! Their players are too smart to be successful in athletics! Nerds aren't supposed to beat FAU. lol.

How is yours?

I didn't do a bracket this year. I've been too busy drafting fantasy baseball teams before the season starts next Thursday. I'm just happy both North Carolina and North Carolina State won yesterday.

I'm surprised UNC is only a 3.5 favorite tomorrow against MSU...

My entire Sweet 16 is still alive, and I've lost 2 of my round of 32 (Kentucky & BYU) so far.
