Jonathan Isaac is a major injury risk and he was 6 ppg player in the playoffs. Virtually no impact whatsoever.

He looks like a generational defender, and his shooting is average.

If he was healthy the money would be a no brainer, the problem is you know he's not gonna be healthy

Yeah, I don't see us making any additional signings until after we figure out Reed/Martin. Either players are still hoping to find more than a vet min offer and we're waiting that out or Morey is cooking up his last big move before scouring vet mins.

Looking at some of the remaining names, about half may end up signing for the minimum. Many of them need to see how their market plays out. Frankly, a lot of these guys are minimum guys at this point in their career.

Can we trade Reed and cap space for DFS?

Seems like DFS is the perfect target

He shouldn’t cost much for he seems more like a rental to me.

You beat me to it! Don't be surprised if Buddy Hield ends up signing on with us on a vet min contract. We are a sweet opportunity for any guard out there that hasn't signed that is looking to rebuild their name and possibly get paid next summer. I mentioned Hield, but Trent, Lonnie Walker, Luke Kennard, Spencer Dinwiddie, Faults, and even Caleb Martin could find themselves in that position with us.
Like I said, I have a feeling Morey is going to wait this out and let some of these players still looking for work sweat. We're perceived as a contending team, we're going to get national attention, AND we have an opening at the guard and power forward position. Someone will bet on themselves, make the sacrifice and sign on with us for a future opportunity.

I believe if we did that there is a penalty as far as being capped at the apron or something. Not sure how prohibitive it is and if it would be worth it. Good player, but not necessarily a premium acquisition, if there are significant penalties.

Do you guys from Philly think cheesesteaks are cringe? I can't imagine living in a city that's most known for a sandwich.

The only way 2-22M for Mo Wagner makes any sense is if Franz went to management said I want my brother here.

Not really? Maybe a little when people say it just because it's so cliche. Seems like a weird characterization of the city honestly.

Just wondering. Every time an athlete is signed to a Philadelphia team, they're always asked about the novel sandwich which has meat and cheese on it. I could see it getting tiresome as a local.

It's only known for the cheese steaks if you're not from PA. I'm originally from Bethlehem and yeah...cheesesteaks are awesome, but that's never been the first thing I think of when it comes to Philly. To answer your question, yeah, it's cringe AF in the most ignorant kind of way. It's like meeting someone from Cali and immediately bringing up surfing. It's basically small talk starter type $hit and yeah it's stupid.

I don't know man. Mo Wagner is a guy I would love to see in Philly. He's an insufferable dickbag if you're playing against him, but I imagine he's great to have on your team. To me he's every bit as good as Isaiah Hartenstein. Hartenstein just happened to get paid because he got a ton of national media attention during the Knicks playoff run and he played good defense and rebounded the basketball against a one legged, Bells palsy Joel Embiid. I'd take Mo Wagner over Hartenstein, but maybe it's because I grew to hate Hartenstein with a passion because of that series.

Oh well, he would have been a good fit here. I know he doesn't shoot/score but he does everything else.

Speaking for myself, a good cheesesteak or cheesesteak hoagie on a fall/winter night while watching a game is pretty great lol

I don't think Ainge is going to get what he wants for Markkanen. This new CBA stuff has front offices spooked and Lauri is going to get a big contract next offseason. I think there are fewer team willing to make that deal than for Mikal.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
