Interesting

We have 9 games left if we go 8-9 is that enough to keep Flus ?

If we went 8-9 this season the bears under Poles/Flus would be 18-37 after 3 years

Personally If the ship continues to sink I would ask Poles to resign and then promote Ian Cunningham, fire Flus and then go grab Ben as a testament of how things will be different.

The record (much like stats often can be)would be deceiving.) This isn't a well led team, and it hasn't been for at least for at least two seasons now. I don't care how good the defense is, he's the head coach not DC. Over and over again, he's made terrible in game decisions, his teams have lost multiple games when leading by double digits in the 4th, and now he's lost the locker room. He needs to go.

As for Poles, I think its a bit of overraction to want him gone (at least after this season). I don't hold him as responsible for Eberflus as others may. Poles has never had the opportunity to do a legit coaching search. And I don't believe Poles has 100% of the say for keeping or firing Eberflus. The inexcusable thing is the OL. He's only made on significant move there. Maybe you can include his trading, but at worst, I think its a wash. Other than that, he's been amongst the best. In my eyes, he has one last try to adequately address the OL and get his HC.

I think from the 1000 mile view of Lions fan that Proles has done enough to save his job but he gets one more coaching hire and if he doesn't get it right in three years he goes down with the ship. Eberflus isn't it and he's gotta get the next coach right. If it's Ben Johnson it's Ben Johnson, someone else, someone else, just make a good hire.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

I think that, as of today, my Head Coaching candidates list is pretty short.

1. Ben Johnson: Obvious number one choice. Elite offensive mind and seems to be more than analytical guy and can lead a unit.
2. Kliff Kingsberry: He's doing an amazing job running that offense in Washington. Same as he did when he was a HC in Arizona, where he had pretty good success. Also has the coaching history with Caleb
3. Steve Spagnuolo: I'd say he's already coached his way into the HOF as a DC and he's had nothing but great success in KC. It wouldn't be his first time as a HC but he's probably learned from his mistakes, especially since working under maybe a top 3 coach of all time. With all the success he's had already with a likely 5 SB coming for him, plus the connection between him and Poles, I think it would be bad to not interview him.

As for the assistants, my list basically stays the same, regardless of who the HC is....

Offensive Coordinator: Will Harriger or Klay Kubiac
QB Coach: David Blough
OL Coach: Steve Oliver
RB Coach/Offensive Assitant: Mick Lombardi

Defensive Coordinator: Rober Saleh
Secondary: Ryan Downard
Defensive Line: Aaron Whitecotton

Special Teams Coordinator: John Fassel

If the OL is bad again next year, I'd fire him.

We also need some 70 offensive coach to teach Williams to throw it away. In the pocket for three seconds and get sacked. These new aged QBs are supremely talented but in cases like that, it works against them.

Flus really knows how to hype the troops up to start doesn't he? Being behind from the start is an integral part of his expert head coaching, obviously

Him and Donovan compare notes for opening a game.

Does Caleb ever have pocket awareness? I know the line is not good.

Caleb making jf1 look like a reasonable target processor at qb here. Yikes.

another knock on waldron is that he's scheme regularly doesn't get his WRs open and thats like the main thing with our WRs. that was also the issue with him in Seattle, which is why i didn't want him in the first place.

I'd say the OL has played well so far. I blame both sacks on coverage/holding on to the ball too long. Bates blocked very well on that drive. If he's not the starting center with a fully thealthy OL, then this coaching staff is clueless.

Caleb has taken too many sacks taking out of FG range.

Daniels has looked great to be fair. That said, caleb has a longggggg way to go to catch up to JD. Which is a sucky feeling right now.

Tell me if you've heard this one before bears fans. "Defense, you gotta win this for us"

Last season he regularly gave up fourth quarter leads. The season he lets the other team score first. Idk how he can be brought back

Awful playcall. Although Keenan Allen whiffed on a block, but might not have been his fault.

Play design not good though.

Waldron relies too much on gimmicks and not just taking advantage of player talent.
