How would we get him? MIA wants bigs.. No way we are giving up Bass or Ryno for just another SF. I doubt MIA will take Duhon or Q for him as that is an downgrade. And there is no reason for them to pick up JRich. They just put Miller's name out there hoping some teams would offer them some bigs, something we cannot do.

I didn't say we SHOULD go after him. I just said I personally would love him back. Even if we had a big to offer, why would we trade with a division rival? We wouldn't.

Lol, there's now a poll on the front page of realgm asking whether Zbo would improve Orlando's chances at a title.

I'm shocked that 71% says yes.

If the trade with Zbo goes down, and let's just say (hypothetically) we get Zbo + Mayo for Bass + J-Rich + Duhon... I would hope SVG changes his minutes rotation slightly and really push to utilize guys like Arenas and Clark more (including players being utilized at multiple positions) in the new line-up... and get them all accustomed with a 9 man rotation geared for the playoff run... It's time to start clicking on all cylinders, and it's time to give all our "weapons" opportunities, freedom, and minutes to excel and perform at their respective highest potentials, and to form a bond/chemistry with one another in doing so... no more shortchanging talent and limiting players abilities/options... it's time to go all-out and win this 'chip... so make the right adjustments and move forward

Nelson (28 min)/Arenas (20 min)
Mayo (28 min)/Redick (12 min)/Arenas (8 min)
Hedo (28 min)/Clark (20 min)/Q-Rich (0 min)
Randolph (28 min)/Anderson (18 min)/Clark (2 min)
Howard (32 min)/Anderson (10 min)/Clark (6 min)/Allen (0 min)/Orton (0 min)

Estimated Minutes (Standard Deviation of +/- 6 minutes for each player depending on opponent match-ups, adjustments, foul troubles, in-game scenarios, different line-ups, good/bad player performances, etc...):
Howard - 32 min
Randolph - 28 min
Hedo - 28 min
Mayo - 28 min
Arenas- 28 min
Nelson - 28 min
Anderson - 28 min
Clark - 28 min
Redick - 12 min
Q-Rich - 0 min
Allen - 0 min
Orton - 0 min

Perfect 9 man rotation, up the minutes for Clark, up the minutes for Gilbert (got to get him going), lower the minutes for Redick, keep the minutes consistent with Anderson, Nelson, and Hedo; and give the same consistent starter minutes across the board with Mayo and Randolph. Howard gets the most minutes, because, well... he's Howard. Minutes for Clark and Anderson may reduce if the Magic acquire a decent back-up big in the trade or signed after the deadline (buyout player). But for the most part, this is what I would expect to occur if the Magic somehow land Zbo and Mayo in a trade. If you're going to make a trade like this, you better go all-out with your talent and resources on this roster... no holding back... it's time to win

seriously, if otis does pull a trade - its a panic trade. do we really want one? do we really need one? let's give this team a chance before we throw away another core. we just need a good big to add to the rotation. zbo and mayo are not the answers. they're not exactly startling upgrades at either position defensively. i'd rather stick with bass and jrich. looks like murphy is really coming off the books - if anything, he's another guy that can rebound and play center...

I don't believe in any trades. The most probable scenario is we sign Troy Murphy after he's waived by Warriors. And honestly - I think we shouldn't make any panic moves.

Lots of reports saying Murphy will end up in Orlando. I like it. Always liked Murphy. And we can get him very cheap ..

I don't think he plays the C spot well, but he can be a more experienced Ryan Anderson. And though he does take 3's, I've always liked his shot selection over Ryan's ..

Hoopsworld wrote:Among the places the Celtics have looked is Phoenix. Three sources confirmed the clubs spoke about three Suns wings — former Boston College star Jared Dudley, Grant Hill and Mickael Pietrus.

That looks like it’s gone,” said one source, “but you never know.”

It may be more likely a new Celtic comes from a group of players who’ve been mentioned as potential buyout candidates — Morris Peterson, Jason Kapono, Rasual Butler and Sasha Pavlovic among them.

I would absolutely HATE to see Mickael in a Celtics jersey :-? .. Oh, and Dudley/Hill would be solid backups for Pierce

But I can't see anything PHX could possibly want from Boston ..

Its nice that 1 or 2 months ago everyone was saying that Troy would be horrible, cuz he is soft, cant play at center, old, etc... and now everyone is happy that we have a chance to sign him (i wanted him at that time).

BTW, a Zbo for Jrich+Bass would be nice and would improve our chances, the only problem is that Zbo is a unres FA next summer, imagine if he leaves, we would be ****** by losing Jrich and Bass for nothing, and for me, thats a good reason the Grizz are shoping him, he is demanding a lot of money and they can't pay him, so they can get a ZBo with limitations (Bass) with a much smaller contract.

D12/Troy
Zbo/Ryan/Clark
Hedo/Q/Clark
Arenas/JJ
Jameer/Arenas/Duhon

Not bad, IMO, we would destroy Hawks and Knicks, have a chance against Celtics/Lakers frontcourt and against Miami would be a game between frontcourt and backcourt players.

Again, I doubt Otis would make that trade without any SG or SF capable of playing SG being involved from Memphis' side ..

If it's Mayo or Allen + Z-Bo for Bass/JRich, that would be great for us ..

@ChrisMannixSI
Boston and Miami are the frontrunners to sign soon to be free agent Troy Murphy, league sources tell SI

So our only hope of getting any big man at all, would be ruined by Boston/Miami?

If he wants to play, why would he wanna go to Boston/Miami?

Or does this mean Otis is not looking to sign him? That would be stupid. When a player like Murphy is free, you always have to try and sign him + "sources" said he would prefer Orlando cause he would be seeing more PT than with other contenders ..

Aren't those warriors close with Otis? With Jrich and Arenas you would think that Murphy would follow in their footsteps.

Who knows though.

He would get some PT in Miami too, they have only Bosh and Z.

As for the Celtics, they are smart, will try to sign him because he can help Orlando and Miami, so its one option less for both teams.
