That's just about the only way he responds to people. He takes sentences out of context and uses them to create a strawman and then debates the strawman. If u call him on it he ignores u or stops posting and pretends he doesn't read your response.

I get that. But again, Harris (whether you like him or not) fits squarely into the type of plan you've advocated for years. JJ Redick fits squarely into the type of plan you have hated for years (the endless quest for an 8th seed). I get that you don't like Harris and I get that you do like Redick but it's still curious to me, and apparently others here too, how radically your point of view appears to have changed simply because the Bucks added a veteran you happen to like. I like Redick too and I've been far more agreeable to acquiring vets over the years than you have but this trade smacks of everything the Bucks have done wrong over the years. And of all the people who should hate this trade I would have to think it'd be the people who for years have championed the idea of going cheap and young and avoiding the type of vets who will push the team closer to 40 wins than to a high pick in the lottery.

The context of the team matters. The Bucks were going to be an 8th or 9th seed with or without Harris or Redick.

Now, if the Bucks were a bottom five team and they made a win now move I'd be incredibly pissed.

But this doesn't change their future so I simply can't muster the anger you guys have.

Did you read Kelly Dwyer's story about Skiles today? He nailed all the issues we've had with him as a head coach and why no team should consider hiring him. Great read, especially for those who think those of us who've been critical of Skiles the last few seasons had no basis for that point of view.

I haven't yet but it sounds like Dwyer is going to continue moving up in my estimation.

If Harris becomes the player some of us think he can become it absolutely will have an impact on the Bucks' future or what could have been their future.

So you have absolute 100% certainty Harris never turns into anything then? Wise signature kind of certainty?

Tell you, I'm bowing out for the night but if Harris turns out to be an All-Star I'll happily eat all the crow you guys want. It won't be the 20th time I've been wrong around here. But anything short of that and I simply couldn't care less about this trade.

Link below. Does a great job of talking about how Skiles can't develop young players. That doesn't mean he won't play young players, just that so few of them develop properly under his watch. Sound familiar? ;)

So let's say it takes us 7 years to be not be an 8th seed.

Tobes is a much better choice to be on the team in 7 seasons and a better choice to be contributing on said team.

If Tobes was 30 years old nobody would give a ****, the fact is he's 20 years old. We gave up a young guy with potential for a guy who is getting us no further then keeping Tobes would've got us.

 So if Tobes becomes a JJ Redick player you won't care about him but you love that we added Redick?

Serious question. When is John Hammond going to get a column like that written about him by a national writer?

He's churned and burned assets right and left now for five years. Yet he just rides under the radar and keeps collecting his paychecks. The owner likes his work so much that he got a big extension a couple weeks back to boot.

The one thing I was highest on for Tobias was his jumper and his range. Purest thing of beauty mine eyes have ever seen. He is going to put up Ersan-like numbers from three (like when Ersan is hot) for significant stretches on significantly fewer makes/attempts, albeit. And you can take that to the bank.

God god. I get the accusation of "strawman" arguments from people on this thread and then get the strawman 10x right back.
