The Gay trade was Colangelo's hail mary pass to save his job and not give up too high of a pick to OKC. He's also the only reason why Bargnani wasn't traded while he still had any value, because it was his pet project and he couldn't admit it failed.

Barganani wasn't traded because the offers were worse than he was, and besides that pick is top 3 potected regardless if i recall correctly.

I dont blame him for not taking Boozer.

Most of the deals they had for barganai were worse than keeeping him.

It will be proof Isiah still runs the house.

Keirh Van Horn ftw.

But if this did happen I don't wanna hear anything about bad defense rebounding bricks or his suit collection

He wouldn't be as bad as when he's put into the role of primary scorer.

Spree was a streak shooter and elite finisher

Gay is a streak shooter and elite finisher

Houston was a subpar finisher at the rim, but elite in the mid-range game

Melo is an average finisher at the rim and a little less potent from the mid-range, but overall, a better scorer

Spree played defense too and wasnt an identical of Houston.

Rudy is a poor mans Melo, redundance at best.

How can you say redundance when there's no one else who can get their own shot off. And if the only thing that costs to get him is Amare and Novak, that's not even worth thinking it over.

From my popz memory of Spree, Spree stepped up his defensive game once he got to NY. He played defense in spurts in GS.

Judging by his basketball reference page, he had a big defensive year his 2nd year in the league and then turned into a bit of a chucker like Rudy, who didn't really concern himself with the other side of the floor.

Saying Spree was an identical of Houston...and then saying that Spree played defense...

You know they won't do that.

Of course I'd do it to get rid of amare deal, but I wouldn't expect the team to be better.

The idea is to get better right?

Removing a non-factor and adding a competent scorer is getting better.

Honestly...when was the last time you guys that want him actually seen Bargnani play? 2009? Or maybe you were asleep when you saw him be the type of player some of you are saying he can be? The freakin guy can't handle Toronto media, you think he's going to be able to handle the NY media? He shies away from physical play and he's supposed to be some answer against the Pacers? They might as well just play Novak...at least Novak can still hit the things that some of you are fantasizing that Bargnani is supposed to be able to hit.
