Did a good job on his hedge from what I can see, just didn't recover earlier like he should have so it completely broke down. But as far as disrupting the ball handler it was good. As far as JV hedging I'd be most worried about that. They've got him hedging and that's not something he's really done. Not surprising if he doesn't know when his job on the hedge is properly done. That will come with repetition.

EDIT: Point is, I'm not taken anything from a broken play. Those happen. I care more about things like IF he's hedging and where he needs the most work. Not expecting anything from a guy who has hedged -50% of the since his rookie season.

He has hedged 5-6 times in this game, Dirk just showed one or two plays wich collapsed. Other ones were ok imo.

Yes he hedged a number of times and not all ended as badly, but they never really carried any purpose. It didnt help with defense even when he did it right. It felt useless and needless. They never forced a turnover or anything beneficial just caused fear for collapsing.

He shouldn't have hedged here in the first place. The ballandler receiving the ball was not an immediate threat. His momentum was gong AWAY from the basket. Unless that guy is Westbrook or prime Rose, there's no way he's darting and turning the corner that quickly. JV's teammate would have had enough time to recover even if JV had just dropped back.

There was a properly done hedge. JV's hedge forced a turnover

Man, for some reason I thought they were playing Greece today. Nevermind, well, I guess Netherlands will do, but I really want to see Lithuania - Greece match, 2 of my favorite teams.

Plenty of blame to go around on that possession:

- #19 barely touched the rollman, and did nothing to slow him down. He's gotta take that pass option away from one side, and he'd still have time to recover back to the perimeter.

- Other guy (#6 or 8, can't see) bailed out to the corner shooter way too soon.

- The guy on the ball handler just stood up-right and allowed the pass with no resistance.

- Jonas was late recovering by like 0.3s and didn't cut the divert the ball handler enough.

One thing I noticed about Jonas, he doesn't really move off the ball that much anymore. Still trying to set pick and roll, but not as much as before. He used to be very energetic, moving without the ball non stop, even after Raptors turned him more into slower, bigger post scorer, he still played as off ball big on National team. not anymore, he is playing exactly the same way as he plays in the NBA.
Pre draft Jonas was known for his off ball movement and hustle, not a 1 on 1 player at all. When you look at him at age 18, and you look at him now - completely different player. It is very weird.

Back on topic, weird quarter for Lithuania. 3 points in the first 5 minutes, with JV on the floor, 20 points in the next 5 minutes, without JV.

Jv was 0.3s late b/c he froze for 0.3s lol. It looks like he was expecting to be called for a foul, so he stood for a split second with his hands up.

Well in this game probably the most memorable was that little Julius Erving move that Sabonis JR pulled off.

France is day raping Germany. That team is ridiculous, much better than anyone else. Magic fans should be excited about Fournier more, not Scrubzonja.
