What was his incentive to tell the Clippers? Beverley and Williams would have been really good guards to have in their backcourt along with CP3.

Maybe to free up an additional $12M in payroll this year for another move he feels is better than those two players? Honestly don't know but that could be one reason.

He will also have the option to sign for 5 years next offseason now

Well yes, except the Pacers wouldn't want Deng for free I would imagine, seems like they could get better assets even for a one year rental.

What a dumb move by Gilbert.

For who? Kyrie? The only star who can actually play with Lebron's style. They lucked out

Paul will 33 during 2018 playoffs and is due for a big injury tbh. ://

What do you mean due?
He's already been injured a lot of times, in Playoffs too.

Incentive is bird rights, lower cap hold for next year free agency, and new $200 million contract.

Nod, that's huge because if he loves the Rockets it allows Bird Rights to sign above the cap and have flexibility, and if this experiment blows up badly, he can still make another move next year anyway.

Cause this way he can still get the Supermax next year right?

Clipper in the lotto next year for sure now. Shocking that they wont move on from Doc Rivers at this point.

Glad this didn't happen earlier, as the Magic would probably have hired him to some sort of GM role. :nonono:

Houston, thanks for welcoming me with open arms. I gave my all every time I was on the court. Time to get to work for LA! #Clips

They are taking it well

I'm low-key excited to see what PatBev does on the Clips. We were a soft team in the Big Three era. Beverley is the type of tough, scrappy player we've been lacking. He will also improve our terrible defense.

Isn't it pretty obvious? They wanted to shed Beverlys, Lous and Dekkers salary. Watch them find a taker for Ryan Anderson and then have enough space to land someone big in free agency and just fill out the roster using minimum contracts. Morey always goes big and him letting go of these players are clearly an idication of something bigger brewing. Morey has to know that he isn't getting better value players in free agency compared to the contracts of Beverly, Lou and Dekker.

I'm looking forward to Chris Paul finding out no one plays defense in Houston.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM
