I was thinking this too, i imagine if Dolan was a racist it would have come out already. And even then the real reason Sterling was forced out was the fact that NBA sponsors voiced their displeasure. Essentially he was costing the league money so they gave him the boot, knicks even when they are bad still generate interest and money.

Spike mentioned something I've heard countless times about working at MSG - employees are scared to lose their jobs and walk on eggshells all the time. He said security knows him well but they're afraid to even talk with him in fear of being fired for not doing their job. Let's not forget Dolan fired a security lady for stopping him because she didn't realize who he has.

The man is a disgrace to society but happens to have billions of dollars and own some sports teams.

Basically what happened is in this new regime, most likely Leon Rose, wanted the old way of preferential treatment for celebs to be done with.

Nobody told Spike ahead of time nor did they properly explain the change.

Mind you, this is Dolan’s team he doesn’t have to tell anybody sh*t, but it would’ve been nice if he did.

So he’s getting told not to go the employee entrance, Spike feels entitled and confused, the end.

This could’ve easily been avoided if there was proper communication.

Spike did overblow things by going on national tv, but the Knicks did themselves no favors by releasing 2 idiotic statements about this.

Pure celeb entitlement. Dude was asked, respectfully, to exit the elevator because the area he was in is employees only and he tried to make it a Rosa Parks moment: “so then ARREST ME like my brother Oakley.” Word? Must’ve been watching civil rights movies all February long. Lets build a statue to commemorate a millionaire’s bravery in the face of a working class guy just trying to do his job. And his story keeps changing. It’ll be no time before he admits he was told several times he can’t use that entrance but he ignored that because he’s “Spike” and he’s paid millions for his seats over the years. Not a Dolan fan at all but Spike sounds silly for this (as do the Knicks with that petulant pr statement but when isn’t that the case).

i have no clue why spike went public with this. This did not have to be on first take. He literally made a mountain out of an ant hill. We know good and well like all “corporations” they inform everyone of updates. Spike felt entitled and most likely Rose and crew are tired of entitled fans. It’s no coincidence it happened on his first day. The knicks prolly want a new face of the team also. Because spike has been our mascot for 30 years. I dunno sometimes things like this need to happen to force change. All i know is keep RJ Ntilikina and Mitch.
