Yes and no. If he comes out and tears his achilles there is a good chance he never earns above a minimum contract ever again. If he waits until June 15th to sign, he gets this year at 4M and there is at least a chance that he gets some kind of extension offer, a small chance, but a chance. Rodgers hyping him as the #1 guy was, um, very interesting.

He also does the heavy lifting "goon" work as a blocker downfield, which has become important. I think he's surpassed Lewis, who's starting to lose a step or two and who had been regarded as the top blocker of the recievers (both WR & TEs). In that regard, Lazard has a valuable skill to complement his so-so speed and adequate ability to get open

I have no flaming idea what he's worth for a contract, but I'd bet both sides have genuine interest in getting something done. I'd also bet given the WR contract climate and the thought that teams may start stepping back from such huge commitments long term, that this might be mostly about guaranteed money

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

I get a kick out of all the stuff with Rodgers. With all of his drama the past 2 years he still won B2B MVP so I don't consider anything as a distraction for him. Just win another MVP.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Oh, I hear you. Much of the off the field stuff is Aaron trolling the world for his own kicks.

Another MVP would be nice, but the ONLY thing he can do to satisfy my fan appreciation is a SB win. The Pack has re-ordered their universe to Aaron's wish, so he needs to bring the Lombardi home, or he can retire and chase the witch around their enchanted cottage till he gets bored. I'll be very thankful for what he's done for the franchise, but the SB win needs to happen.

Looking like the MVP in a playoff game would be better imo... regular season mvp doesn't mean ****

Agreed. Our defense was fine in the loss to SF. It was ST and offense. ST has (hopefully) been addressed. It can't get any worse at least.

Like Favre I think the cold weather has affected Rodgers more and more each year. It wouldn't be the worst thing IMO to play a road playoff game(s) in warm weather/dome.

I don't think the Packers had any intention of paying Adams what the Raiders paid him. They instead brought back Douglas and Campbell and had other younger guys to extend, Jaire and next Jenkins.

Rodgers mentioned his contract is basically a year to year I wonder if he plans to keep restructuring if the Packers need to free up space relative to the Packers needs?

Well either way he seems in good spirits and I’m excited to see the entire team. Tons of talent on both sides

Well, so why did we offer more money than the Raiders did? (according to reports AND Davante).

That's what Adams says and maybe it's true but I'm not 100 % convinced. Regardless I'm glad the money was spent elsewhere.

Both sides said the Pack was willing to pay as much or more.

Yeah that's what they say after the trade was made. I'm still skeptical they would have actually paid him that much.

I thought Rodgers also just brought that up too when discussing Adams. I think he was also right in the middle of those talks.

I don't have one shred of evidence or inside info to support my notion, just gut feeling: With the Packer offer to Dante, if they were really confident he wanted to move on, how much of that was mostly posturing for public perception? The Packers look bad if they don't make a last ditch effort, and Dante gets props for having two teams bet the farm on him - even if the one offer is mostly for show.

Yeah, from the beginning it seemed as if the Packers never really wanted to dump that much money into Adams. I think if they did, they would've offered that at the start of last season and Adams would still be a Packer.

Not sure, in that Rodgers interview he said Adams asked him to help get the team to trade him to Vegas. Guessing we 'matched' plus a bit to try and get him to change his mind, but sounds like he was locked in to leaving.

I think this kind of worked out perfectly for us, as much as I will miss Adams, I think having Quay, Watson, Douglas, Campbell will make us a better overall team.
