He is selling. It is a done deal from what I hear.

If it's a done deal, then Woj and other national media would have broken the news by now?

Because they don't want to announce it until after the Finals and the Draft? Most likely - They do not want it to steal the spotlight.

It is almost certain to occur by the end of next month.

What is your source? Seems like you're pretty certain despite it not being reported anywhere, do you have some sort of connection?

I don't really get the "don't steal the spotlight" angle, there have been a bunch of coaching decisions made in later rounds in the playoffs and IMO the Hornets are not capable of stealing the national media spotlight from the NBA Finals.

Seth Curry said in a recent interview he'd consider the Hornets in free agency. Dead eye shooter but zero defense obviously

This offseason, I was hoping to bring back PJ on a reasonable deal and maybe get Bridges on a short term discount (maybe throw some player options in there and make him prove it), and then let Oubre walk.

What teams out there have the cap space to sign them outright (w/o a sign and trade)? Indiana? Who else? Just trying to judge the market and the leverage PJ/Miles have.

Then I was thinking use the full mid level exception to add semi-veteran like in that 25-27 age range that could provide some perimeter d and toughness. They could help make the playoffs now but still could be around when Melo, M Williams and Scoot/Miller start hitting the beginning of their prime. Someone like Bruce Brown or Josh Hart. Then I was thinking no way Hart leaves thibs or Brown leaves after just winning a chip. But apparently Denver cant pay Brown very much. He says he wants to stay but that was the day after and he's been underpaid his whole career. Hoopshype free agent ranking says he has only like $6.8M career earnings. Needs to get paid. I'd love to get him, he came up huge in that game 5.

That reads like MJ is still hanging around as a minority owner.

Yeah I thought that too. "Ending his run as majority owner" is not the same as selling his entire stake.

Actually this is definitely the case. From Woj's piece:

Once the sale is complete, Jordan is expected to keep a minority stake and a presence with the franchise, sources said.

Hopefully Plotkin and Schnall dont' let MJ keep meddling in the team if he stays around as a minority owner.

They'll probably make him President of Basketball Operations just to troll us.

I still want Jordan affiliated with the team in some aspects. His star power alone has helped keep us relevant. With that said, we need a revamp in basketball operations. There’s no clear direction or philosophy. I’m hoping that changes. If for nothing else, MJ brought the “Hornets” back to Charlotte! I’ll forever be grateful for that.

Jordan nailed the rebrand. We've had some of the best branding, color schemes, alternates, etc. since Jordan bought the team. That's one area he excels in.

I told ya!

Can't give out my sources but if I say it is a done deal I am not one to talk out of nowhere. Check my post history. Never told a fib.
