Yes, he's a generational prospect. But like any player, his career could any time. Or he could get too slow as he ages, might never realize his potential. Not even a half-decade in, there are so many what-ifs that it literally doesn't make any logical sense to make such claims before he has any achievements of relevance to an ATG type of ranking.

It simply isn't substantive. It's just a projection, and it can be done quite handily without taking needless shots at an actual ATG player.

I mean where was my shot at Durant again ? I said he flopped after golden state.. which is true.. failed in Brooklyn.. failed in phoenix.. looks awkward now in a rockets uniform?? But this is just my opinion let’s see how it plays out I guess… and those who know know I had Westbrook’s back during his OKC days .. so I’m not sure where I’m hating on Durant if that’s what’s being insinuated here

Flopping = age 32 - 37 putting up 28/5/6 on 64-68% TS as a 7 footer.

off a torn achilles too. ask Boston fans if they would take that from Tatum over the next 5 years and 100/100 would say yes

I came across this meme the other day with a list of players with the highest ppg average from 2000-2009 and Durant was listed 12 with 22.7 ppg.. just ahead of ray allen and under others like arenas, pierce, carter.. actually supports my argument that KD’s career been a flop :dontknow:

Imo Durant all time just a tier ahead Melo as far as scoring.. and you can argue that prime Harden (rockets harden) was a better player than KD.. what is the argument here again I ain’t hating on KD im actually right about what I’m saying but everybody entitled to their opinions :dontknow:

Post was suppose to be a reply to tsherkin but when I quoted it took his posts off

Any ways.. this version of Wemby right now TO ME is more impressive than KD has ever been at any point in his career but it’s just my opinion

KD was drafted in 2007 so you are comparing other players in their prime to rookie and sophomore year KD

I mean sorta.. but I’m also comparing a rookie and sophomore Wemby to KD all time :dontknow: that’s why I said IMO… this version of Wemby RIGHT NOW more impressive than KD has ever been at any point :dontknow:

Jokic's run isn't over until Wemby makes it further in the playoffs than he does. Also, I'm not even sure it's a given that Wemby will be better than him 3 years from now. It might take longer. People don't seem to understand how good Jokic is right now and are a little too eager to embrace the newest thing as the best.

That’s it. Jokic has been quite durable, Wemby has already been out for a significant period of time as a result of a fairly routine play..

If Wemby is DPOY as well as an offensive maven it will be hard to gainsay him as has been said. His team contending strongly will help as well.

What more do you think KD should have done in 2017 ?. There was widespread criticism of him and Curry together being unfair. He also defended very well that year but Wemby looks like he might re-define NBA defense.

KD has mostly played too much iso imo though other than at GSW. Wemby might be so impossible to stop that it will never be a bad strategy for him to iso. KD does look the better 3 point shooter at this stage.

On balance I don’t really disagree with you, but those marking KD down for his post Achilles’ injury play are perhaps assuming Wemby will be durable himself which is not a given.

Not sorta. Those were KDs first 2 years in the league. He averaged 20 in his first year, 25 in his second year. He hasn't averaged less than 25ppg since. 16 straight seasons. His teams always won at a very high level, beat the 12' and 16' spurs in playoff series in OKC, while also going toe to toe with 14' San Antonio and 16' Golden State, which are two of the best teams of this century. I like Wemby, but chill on the KD hate and emoji, he was really good.

Terrible argument, in fact his 3rd year in the league he put up 30ppg on 60% TS and finished second in MVP voting. Didn't make it into your meme though as it only compared two years of his career to everyone else.

Stick to looking at memes.

That's literally his first two seasons. 20.3, then 25.3 ppg, on 57.7% TS (106 TS+) that second season. Then a year later, he won the first of 3 straight scoring titles.

What a weird and inane argument.
