Thats why! and the point wasn't necessarily "20ppg" as Grind said 14-17... The point was ANYONE who knows Ron knows that you can't perform if you dont get the opportunity. IN ANY PROFESSION...

but how do you explain the huge decrease in shooting% and ft%?

i could understand if he was still shooting well and was just as efficient as he was 6-7 years ago. It would be one things if he was still efficiently scoring and you could extrapolate that over his limited shots but his shooting has went down the tubes the last 5 years.

A LOT of that has to do with Nash. Damn the Lakers will be good!

Agreed.

He has been one of the least efficient offensive players in the NBA 4 going on 5 years now

hmmmmmm.....

First of all its the last 3 YEARS- Look it up...

Second, how long has he been with the Lakers? hmmmm 3 YEARS! The year before that he had a 18 PER

He shot 40% from the field and scored 17 points on 15 shots a game. That is not efficent. Ill give you his 3pt percentage was nice at 40% as well but overall a poor shooting year.

Competing is 90% MENTAL MP. If you're use to being a #2 option/ border line #1 and you come to a team like the Lakers with Kobe leading the show. That's a huge adjustment psychologically. I give Ron credit for coming over -making the adjustment and helping them win a chip. However, he clearly lost himself. Any anyone who can't see that didn't watch enough of Artest's career to know....

He won't average 17 or even 20 with Kobe,Gasol,Dwight/Bynum at the time...That's common sense

he can average 15 but he doesn't need to..anyway it's not about points when it comes to Ron and I think we all know that. Dude is just a scary uncontrolable man who sometimes hurts his team more that he helps, but when he helps he HELPS. Somebody has got to be the enforcer.

you are making some brash statements. Not saying your right not saying your wrong but a lot of your opinions come from "eye tests" and that will only get you so far.

If you don't have facts and statistics to back up our claims it will get questioned sometimes. Nothing is wrong and I respect your opinion but making statements like competing is 90% mental? Who says that, I have never heard that to be true?

It happens in sports all the time. Athletes shelf life is so short. He is no young pup he is going to be turning 33 soon.

so what your telling me is that his poor play over the past 4 years has solely due to opportunity and not diminishing skill set on the offensive end? Now don't get me wrong he is still one of the better defender when his mind is right for sure.

and i like him on your team for that reason.

nash, gasol, ginobli, and hibbert wont be getting into someones face. And even though Thabo is a very good defender i dont' consider him a tough guy. I think Ron Ron bring exactly what your teams needs. It was the right pick imo

pretty much rounded out my rotation with the james johnson pick - 9 guys...will add a 10th shortly but most likely 9 guys getting the majority of the minutes.

thoughts?

Your team will score higher than many because of fit. You can tell you put thought into selecting players who complement each other very well. Not always the bpa but perfect fits. Lawson and Clay is sweet! Your fans got something to look forward to right now and for years to come.

MP, I'm not here to argue. You can take it or leave it. Wisdom comes from experience. And I'll just leave it at that. I'm only being brash as you label it because I get so tired of hearing the same cliches around here. Guys draft Camby, Nash, Kidd- Yet I have to constantly hear about a player 6 or 7 years younger being old. That's just one example and then I just unload because someone has to. Some of you sit here and argue whether an 18 year vet who's won a chip would be more useful than a 22 year- 2 year player- who showed some promise. Then turn right around, and debate whether a guy who averaged 20 pts for 8 years straight could hold his own if he were given the opportunity- as apposed to being 3 all-stars clean up man for the next three years and talk about -competing being "most mental" -hasn't been proven. If you've ever competed you would know that it is. Somethings don't have to be "proven" Yet, 2 years is good enough for some of you to draft said player on a team that you want to win a chip... It just drives me nuts eventually...
