Gerald Wallace & Courtney Lee would not damage our 2015 dream if we deal Felton & JR in the deal. Plus if we keep our next available 1st round pick til 2015. By the time 2015 offseason comes, Wallace & Lee will be expirings. If we don't already deal them in a package with Bargs for Kevin Love in a sign & trade (we'd be under the salary cap at the time to perform that), then we could do a Warriors/Jazz type deal that opened cap space for them to get Iguodala. We'd just have to add our next available 1st round pick in the deal, & by 2015, the pick would look more realistic to make an impact in any type of deal compared to now.
Now let me get a crack at this.
Phoenix is a good match for a 3rd team. Maybe help them get a SG they've desired without giving up their expiring(s) or 2014 1st rd picks.
Something like;
Knicks get - Rajon Rondo (BOS), Gerald Wallace (BOS), Brandon Bass (BOS), Courtney Lee (BOS) & Keith Bogans (BOS)
Celtics get - Goran Dragic (PHX), Iman Shumpert (NYK), Channing Frye (PHX), Amar'e Soudemire (NYK), Jason Smith (NOP) & 2015 1st (PHX)
Suns get - Eric Gordon (NOP) & Raymond Felton (NYK)
Pelicans get - Tyson Chandler (NYK) & JR Smith (NYK)
Knicks: Evidently Rondo is the main piece. Another thing to note with Wallace & Lee is that they'd likely be plugged right into the starting line-up. Which would essentially build their trade value playing with Rondo, Melo & Bargs. So they'd be known as starters AND expirings by the time 2015 comes around.
Celtics: Only player on a 3-year deal the Celtics will receive is Goran Dragic & by his 3rd yr, it may be a steal of a deal compared to Wallace's & Lee's contracts. Add in Shump to plug in between Dragic & Jeff Green. Frye & Amar'e both as expirings next season. Jason Smith an expiring now. Keeps 2 1st picks for 2014 & then add a 2nd 1st round for 2015.
Suns: They get a player they craved for awhile & it's not Shump. Instead, it's Eric Gordon & now they have Eric Bledsoe to pair with him. They could essentially do a separate deal for Gordon with OK4's expiring, but us dealing Chandler saves the Suns OK4's expiring, which means they save a lot of money this off-season, to sign an impact player to that team. Plus they keep both 2014 1st rd picks.
Pelicans: Simple. They swap Gordon out (a luxury) with Tyson (a need) & Tyson expires sooner than Gordon. JR can fill in for Gordon for the time being scoring wise. His contract will allow him to always be trade-able in a season or 2.
