I'm watching the GOP die a slow death and I couldn't be happier.

Wow. That is crazy even by his standards.
I took it to mean that the 2nd Amendment is an issue uniquely suited for civil disobedience. They can try to remove it from the Constitution politically, but actually removing guns from the possession of armed citizens is another matter. It's a controversial point to be sure, but not the same as advocating assassination.

He isn't talking about the gov't taking guns away. He is talking about picking judges.
I thought he might try to act more Presidential after the nomination to attract undecided voters. Instead he is still acting like a troll.

That's exactly what he's talking about: Hillary appointing judges who will interpret the 2nd Amendment out of existence so that the government can disarm the citizens.

I took it to mean, "Shoot the judge or the president." The rise and fall of his tone, staggered against first an acceleration and then a rapid deceleration of delivery, followed by a beat of silence, make clear his comic brilliance.
A pro-Trump commentator on CNN kept saying Trump was referring to the gun rights lobby's ability to file amicus briefs or some such, as if he would know that amicus briefs were not some sort of underwear.

As usual, Elizabeth Warren said it best, "Donald Trump makes death threats because he's a pathetic coward who can’t handle the fact that he’s losing to a girl."
I don't care that I disagree with her on some issues, she would have been a great VP candidate.
Imagine being married to her and getting torn to shreds with such precision for every transgression.

I laughed out-loud when I read that, very creatively spun BS. He is what he is, reckless, clueless, and dangerous.

This piece is really important:
Trump's Assassination Dog Whistle Scarier Than You Think
It doesn't matter what he meant. It matters what a reasonable person could think he meant.

Absolutely disgusting. At this point if you still support Trump, you're barely above the human trash he is.

That's not what the bearded guy in the red took it to mean, if his expression was any indication. His expression does not convey: "Oh, snap! Trump was talking about *civil disobedience*! I can't believe he went there!"
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

I count at least eight people in that frame who clearly crack a smile in response to what was clearly a joke about shooting a judge or the president. That's what Trump intended, that's what the audience heard, that's what we heard, that's what the campaign denied. It's like a little kid with chocolate all over his face and hands insisting he didn't touch the brownies. Never has a presidential candidate publicly joking about the assassination of his opponent seemed so adorably lighthearted. The man is a comic genius

It sounds like it's completely false. The rumor is just favorably towards Trump. I'm sure a liberal outlet like the Washington Post or New York times would run with it considering that their whole industry is going bankrupt if it was actually true. Maybe i'm just going under the assumption that all of the Trump rumors are BS considering Trump was the one that floated that Obama was a non-American citizen.
Granted, Hillary did suffer health problems that made her leave her Secretary of State position. Still, I suppose it's because Hillary was just gearing up for her presidential run.

Anyone remember during the primaries, the rumor that Trump was still a democrat, and was there to disrupt the R primaries, handing Hillary the election?

To an extent, it doesn't matter what he meant. It matters what people thought he meant - particularly the stupidest and most violent of his supporters. It's like with his "jokes" about asking for Putin to hack into Hillary's e-mail. What mattered was if Russia took him seriously. Luckily, they said they weren't interested.
