Thames over Santana when you need contact? Not pushing the right buttons tonight is Counsell, in spite of the lead.

It's not fine if they can continue to score runs with outs. Always of the mind you should at least get extra runs when you're in that situation, and hits are bonuses.

I don't have confidence in them getting any hits with RISP so I'll take the minimum and be happy.

That's another superior alternative. He goes with the worse all-around hitter who is in worse form right now? I just don't know what the reasoning is sometimes, man.

But Counsell didn't even have anyone up. And he still didn't after the homer. Brewers have a 40-man roster and are deep in starter types. Why not call upon Woodruff or Guerra at that point? Counsell doesn't have a good feel for when starters are falling apart.

Wait a minute. You question the Wizard?!? :wizard: How dare you.

If you really think Santana is better contact hitter than Thames I don't know what to say. This is just complaining about something for no reason at all.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Not sure why it wasn't Granderson there

Counsel probably saving Grandy for late inning double switch. Which I think is dumb. A hit outs the game almost out of reach. Heck a walk is a run with your two best hitters coming up.

Thames is better at making contact than Santana.

Absolutely not, Santana has struck out like 150 times this season between the major and minors. They're both not great, you always take the lefty hitter against the RHP everything else being equal in that spot.

7-3. 2 men on. Zero out. Taylor Williams. The Wizard is in high form tonight. You just can't agree with these decisions.

So, you are taking into consideration how god awful Thames has looked for 3 months. And, you're also taking into consideration Santana has been undeniably a decent hitter the past few weeks. And, you're taking into consideration outside of both of these players we had an even better option in Granderson?

Another reason to go to Thames. Santana hits a ground ball nearly half the time he puts it in play. Thames only a third of the time.

Well, I can 100% verify to you: Eric Thames didn't make any contact and actually struck out on ball four - a slider 1.5 ft off the inside of the plate.
