He's never been on a loser team?
That was easy.

Well, since basketball is a team game I can only speak for Jimmy's IMPACT on the teams he's been on and that has been TOP 5 in the NBA over the last 5 seasons. TOP 3. He makes his teams better, a lot better on the scoreboard.

Somebody in this thread said the Wolves were an 8th seed and barely made the playoffs with him.. NO, WITH JIMMY, the team was on a 54 win pace and had the leagues top rated offense and 14 rated defense. WITHOUT JIMMY, the Wolves had the WORST defense in the NBA and the 10th rated offense and were on a 33 win pace. That is IMPACT. He had similar impact on the Bulls teams.

How were the Wolves for the last 14 years before Thibs got there? How were the Wolves with KAT and Wiggins and without Jimmy?

I'll wait.

Actually, I'll answer myself. They sucked. They sucked really really bad. One of the worst franchises in the NBA for a decade and a half. Now, THAT is a laughingstock. 13 seasons in a row under .500 is a laughingstock.

I don’t think you are saying anything false, or anything we do not know, but you are acting with General Board manners here, especially repeating yourself over and over in the last paragraph.

Grow up.

Butler: I’m going to demand a trade, trash my teammates in practice, specifically for an ESPN interview in which he threw the coach and players under the bus, then claim it’s only about money and he just wants Wiggs and KAT to be great after taking every prior practice off to leak to Woj every day.

KG: I’m never demanding a trade, I’ll yell at teammates because I want them to be better, but I’ll never air out locker room issues specifically for and ESPN interview.

LOL... this is RICH. How would you feel if they were your son? Really?

How about embarrassed?

What the hell? Now these little boys can't take being called soft? They ARE SOFT! Stop coddling them and stop this nonsense of paying them $150 MILLION and making them "promise they are going to try harder from now on". This is what Glen Taylor did with Wiggins. No wonder the kid has no motivation.

You're worried about what his parents might think? What is this Jr High School? Good Lord what is this World coming to?

This a lot of talk from someone who isn't in the NBA. Honestly, its easy to sit there and say that oh they are 6'8 and taller, of course they got in. If you honestly think that they are too soft to play the game, why don't you sub in and try a couple minutes.

Why don't I?

Because that is not what I get paid for. I'm retired. I'm old. I have a bad heart and rheumatoid arthritis. Getting up and walking my dog every morning is enough for me. Nobody is paying me millions of dollars to play a game.

I can tell you this much. If I was a young kid in the NBA and just got paid $150 million or $190 million to run around in my underwear and play a game I love, I would sure as hell do it with more passion and effort than Wiggins or Towns. I would want to win a title and make the most of it. I would want to be a legend in the Twin Cities forever of that is where I played. I would be out there playing with reckless abandon because the money is guaranteed. Towns and Wiggins should be embarrassed of themselves and the effort they give on defense. Towns should be ashamed of himself for getting completely owned and destroyed by freaking Clint Capela in the playoffs. Wiggins should be ashamed for being a total bust thus far in his career.

Great minds. You just type faster.

Why would KG want to leave, nobody talked bad about his antics, he was nearly a god in Minnesota while doing worse things then Butler's been doing, but sure, use this espn thing to shield all your bias.

Shield my ass. KG kept his stuff IN HOUSE period.
You are trying to act like we are personally offended. I have zero problem if Butler called Wiggins soft to try and motivate him. But to call him soft (thru the media) when he wants to leave just looks like an excuse to force your way out.
Last time I will say it, JB looks like a b*tch with his all about me interview. You want out, and think this is the way to go by name calling teammates publically? I would not want him for a teammate. Just me.

Who going to be next that doesn't live up to Butlers standards? I will be rooting for his career to crash and burn. I love the Wolves more than any ONE player. Winning or not.

Please go back to whatever board or hole you crawled out of to try and bash our organization as if most Wolves fans aren’t already aware of the issues at hand. You don’t know jacksh*t about KAT and Wiggins personally or professionally other than what you see on TV. You’d be embarrassed to be the parent of KAT or Wiggins???? What a stupid **** thing to say and the only one that should be embarrassed is you and your dumba$$ takes on a team and players you know NOTHING about.

They might have shortcomings when it comes to how well they play a **** game…yeah…a **** game. Everyone one on the planet knows that KAT needs to get better defensively but what did this “embarrassment” of a person do when Thibs traded for Butler? He deferred to Jimmy as a leader and saw his offensive utilization drop dramatically so Jimmy could get his. Did he go running to the media to cry and whine about it like a little b*tch? No he did not….he did what’s best for the team and his teammates, a concept that apparently Jimmy knows very little about.

KAT and Wiggins have kept their noses clean off the court, haven’t gotten into any legal trouble and haven’t been on social media embarrassing themselves and/or the organization. Your concept of someone being “soft” because they don’t have a very gregarious personality type or meet your personal standards of how people should behave is only overshadowed by the stupidity of your comments about being embarrassed for them because they aren’t good enough for your standards of playing a **** game.

You guys should be LOVING THIS. I WISH, as a Bulls fans we had this stuff going on with our team. This is stuff that makes the league exciting. The Wolves are all over the news and the center of attention. People can't wait to see what kind of team emerges from all this drama.

Believe it or not but this is the kind of dysfunction in sports that will make Towns and Wiggins have to play harder... because they've been called out and everyone is watching. This what you WANT. This is what you NEED. You can't handle the truth.

Sorry but if they were my sons, I would have called them soft myself. Then when Butler did it I would have agreed. Not that it was right but my dad used to intentionally hit my brother and myself with pitches when we were practicing batting to get us to not be afraid of the ball. We were 8-10 yrs old. Not saying it is right, but we were never called soft.

After reading more about Butler's comments/actions during & after that practice, my issue is Butler acts like he just wants to win & compete and says it's not about the money, but he asked to be traded to losing, big market teams. He didn't say "trade me anywhere I can win & play with teammates who play hard". Bad attitude and hypocritical statements are really souring me on a player that should be a perfect fit for a team like my Jazz (defensive studs all around, they play hard & selflessly). I just don't believe him. I think he's using those statements to try to make himself look good, when the reality is he's just looking for $$$, which includes marketability. Ironically, he may be destroying his marketability by coming across as such a grown-brat.

Sucks to see a (small market) team getting drug through the mud by another spoiled millionaire athlete. Hopefully there will be a silver lining, in which your 2 young stars (Wigs & KAT) wake up and play up to their amazing potential. (Because those 2 really do need to be called out, but in a more appropriate way.)

Give me a break. What are some of you people even talking about? My God. OF COURSE it's about MONEY. That doesn't mean it's not about winning too. The teams he wants to go to have max slots for him and ANOTHER player. But, of course the money has to be important.... even most important. It would for anybody. That doesn't mean he's hypocritical for saying he wants to win. It can be about both things you know.

He's a D bag no doubt about it.. so were a lot of great players. most of them actually. He just wants his teammates to work as hard as he does. I don't blame him.

You are confusing a persons personality with their skills at their job. You can be a great person and make everybody proud of your life, and still be "soft" at your job and take criticism for it. Two separate things. Wiggins seems like a great guy, but how many games is that going to win? Would you be happy if the Wolves win 20 games a year with a "great group of guys"? Stan Van Gundy said it great on The Jump when he said you don't have to be liked. He could play and everyone would like him but he still wouldn't be any good.

The sports world is not a game. It is a business. A multi Billion dollar business. It is about producing not being a good guy.

I don't think we'll suck this year. Whichever way this plays out, the team, especially Towns and Wiggins, will be playing under a microscope this year because of the drama. The most important thing is just getting everything resolved, so the players can focus on basketball and not the drama. I don't think you can accomplish this by Butler being in the fold, unless Butler says, "I'm past it, lets play ball", and it shows in his actions on and off the court. I still believe this team is talented with or without Butler. To what extent without, will be determined by the trade. Under the circumstances, you need to bring in players on long contracts, so we get a buy-in. I don't want to revisit this firestorm again next season with another veteran free agent.

With or without Jimmy this team isn’t making the playoffs. Locker room is too fractured if he stays. If he goes we just lost too much ground on the other teams in the playoff race.

Oh, let me get this str8. As long as you produce, you can be a d*ck to your teammates, b*tch and throw tantrums, and run to the media for attention to tell the world you are a winner.

Thank you. Glad I am not the only one who was pissed with this clown :wordyo:

So, now I'm a clown because I don't agree with you? Why do you guys feel like you have to personally attack a poster. That just tells me you are losing the argument on principle.

Your team has not been in the news, on all the talk shows and ESPN Sportscenter and all the NBA shows and talk radio. You love it. This is great. You love turning not sports talk radio in your cars and hearing about the Timberwolves all day. You love being the center of attention. Admit it. You love it.

The Minnesota board is actually a pretty active community, and I can say confidently that none of us are pleased to be in the spotlight. Every single time Minnesota gets put in the spotlight, the team effectively gets pissed on by the media and is considered the laughingstock of the league; it is immensely tiresome.
