role players are going to get overpaid...better to get another high end max slot guy

I agree with you 100%.

It would be better for them to get a low profile max player (like Russel) who is young and fill out the roster with prospects, ring chasers and vet minimums.

Paying 10 to 15 million for the Patrick Beverley’s of the world is a no no.

———-

Russel/ Stephenson/ Caruso
KCP/ Smith/ Korver/ (2nd round rookie on 2 way)
James/ Ariza
Kuzma/ Anthony/ Mbah a Moute
Davis/ McGee/ Muscala/ (Williams on 2 way)

Lance as back up PG could be an option since he did that well last season after the injuries to Ball and Rondo. He is also familiar with Vogel.

That would be a decent team imo.
Don't believe the hype...

ZERO chance in hell Kawhi goes to play possibly 3rd fiddle on that team and deal with the media circus of the Lakers. I will literally delete my account from the forum if it happens. They are realistically looking at a tier 2 or 3 type guy like Butler, Dlo, Kemba etc.

Why would you delete your account? That's the easy way (Kevin Durant Way) out for you. I want you here to experience that backlash of all those months that you were saying he wouldn't join the lakers and that the clippers have the better shot at him.

Its a coward's death.

What’s the problem?

DLO > DlO + Mozgov. Seems like that would be a great result.

That’s a very good, very smart way to fill out the roster, but It’s quite possible they can’t get any of those players at the price tag you listed.

AD did not waive his kicker so they can throw $10m per season at Jeremy ****ing Lamb.

You’re underrating Jeremy Lamb just so you know. He’s going to get more than $10 million per.

Yeah... Lamb is a top 10 SG and only 26..but sure, LAL will get him for 10M and their fans would riot. Terrible.

Lamb is easily worth 15M in this market if not more. He is better than Bojan and there is talk he could get near 20M

And people need to grow up. This was a FANTASTIC trade for the Wiz. Bonga is a wild card so leave him aside.
A 2nd round pick in the first HS draft (2022) and Wagner are good assets.

Wagner averaged a per 36 of 19 & 9 on a TS of 62% and BPM of 8.1 while leading Michigan to the NCAA championship game at 21.
But sure... He's a scrub... lol

This isn't KD redux, Kawhi won Finals MVP on a team full of 1st ballot HOFers, and now he just won Finals MVP with a team of role players. He's proven he can be THE man and carry a team to a title, so the best thing for his legacy now is just quantity. Not to mention the insane amount of money he would make if he plays the rest of his career as a Laker.

That being said, as an NBA fan I personally hope he stays with Toronto.

Kobe didn't destroy anything, he happily got paid to be the Great tank commander that paved the way, with a big ass sign on the back of his tank that read LA takes care of its players, unlike those dirty Celtics, come here and get paid, get famous, get business and hollywood contacts, get a statue and a farewell tour

Bradley Beal has exactly a 0.0% chance of winning anything with the Wizards as long as that John Wall deal’s on the books. If they were smart, they’d have already traded him for young talent. This is exactly what the Wizards should be doing, taking shots on cheap young guys on rookie deals and seeing if they can turn into something. Mo Wagner was a first rounder last year and I thought he actually played pretty well for the Lakers in spots. I was surprised they’d even want to deal him. Only makes sense to me if they’re actually getting a legit max guy. He’s definitely an asset. Then you get a second round pick which is another positive asset. And you give up...... nothing? Why wouldn’t the Wizards make that deal? Was that $5 million in cap space really gonna net them a difference making free agent? I think this deal is a slam dunk for Washington.

I will never understand why teams are always so eager to help Lebron. I don't get it.

Pure anti-LA bias here. The Wiz were big on Wagner last draft, get a good prospect in Bonga, and a 2nd. They know they’re not competing at all and get assets out of this. Why wouldn’t they do this?

That's pretty accurate.
They gain basically zero value and the Lakers ran them over like a train with this trade.

No problem at all, it would be a perfect 3rd option on the floor. I was just pointing out the irony.

No kidding. They should be barred from the league for simply being so horribly run and managed.

Well technically they got a 2nd in 22 lol

While it makes no sense, maybe they really believe in Wagner becoming a solid contributing big man shooter?

Amazing day for us Laker fans...
