I’m hopeful Romeo can play Sunday - really excited to see where his game at. He was starting to get mins the last month of the season and would be a great addition if he could crack the playoff rotation

Lol. Do not miss reading game threads after a loss.
Who are these people that are saying Wanamaker doesn’t belong in the NBA? I know it’s been about 4 months but did people forget had he was having a solid season all year?
This game started bad when Tatum and Hayward were playing bad and Theis was making Adams look like a super star.
Then the 2nd half starts with 4 rookies and R. Williams. This isn’t SL but Danny went with a lot of young guys on this team after the top 8 players.
We missed a lot of 3s, OKC didn’t.
Brown and Kanter looked good.

Jaylen talked about the Cs not being in a good a shape they thought they were or they needed to be. That was on display with how they defended -- late closeouts, being caught out of position, step too slow in preventing drives of OKC guards, late to loose balls, etc. We just want to see constant improvement throughout this short scrimmage period and even in the seeding games.

The C's failing to contain Steven Adams is really concerning though. If they can't stop Adams, how do you think they'll fare against Embiid? He'll eat us up like he has all season.
Theis, as good and reliable as he is, can’t really guard bigger players. It’s better to put Kanter and R.Will inside against bigger 5’s to just clog up the paint, and force them to shoot. What i’m worried about is stopping Giannis inside. I remember he would miss and then get his own rebound or follow up his own miss inside. It’s just frustrating to watch!
Yes, that's always been the case with Theis. But he's been so instrumental to our success this season, with his masterclass in sealing that opens up the lane for drives (he certainly helped make Tatum comfortable driving to the lane and finishing).
I really wish we had Baynes in our lineup, he'll cover our major weakness all on his own. Kanter and Time Lord are nice, but it seems like we have three bigs who are too specialized without really addressing our rebounding and big man defense weakness. Time Lord still seems like a promising prospect though, too bad he was injured for most of the year. I hope he managed to strengthen his body over the break.

A big issue with Rob is he STILL goes after every block instead of just being in the right position to challenge/bother a shot or stay in front of the ball. After chasing after the shot, he's often caught out of position to rebound or to make the next effort defensively. It could be an instinct thing that he has yet to learn to shed. There was one hilarious instance in the game where both he and Grant challenged the three point shooter instead of him dropping down to cover/seal the roll man for the rebound. Probably lacking in communication skills too, a big part of the role of a defensive anchor.

Couldn't agree more on Time Lord's itchiness to block any shot. I think he'll eventually learn to rein it in, as his defensive instincts are already there. It's just a matter of knowing how to put himself in the best position defensively. It would be a dream if KG got to tutor him on how to be a communicator on defense, something KG was a master at.

One major positive coming out of the game is Timelord being able to stay on the floor and complete the game without another injury (not that we know of anyway haha). He needs real gametime reps, a lot of them, before he can become a difference-maker for us.

Kanter and Green were the only bench players who impressed me

When is Stevens going to accept that Tremont Waters is absolutely the best backup PG this team has and play him accordingly? No reason Wannamaker should ever be ahead of him in the rotation.

Re: Scrimmage Thread – NEXT: Celtics vs. Phoenix Suns – 1:30PM, Sun, July 26, 2020
It’s a scrimmage lol not much to takeaway and dig deep into. I thought defense looked pretty terrible and offense had no rhythm which was expected. No player really stood out and quite frankly the 2nd half was irrelevant
No notable performances, good or bad, in my opinion. Short time to get prepared for season so they’ll definitely need to improve defense. I’d start to get concerned if they still look like this in the 3rd scrimmage but not worried at all right now. It was the first game back in 4 months lol

I don’t think Waters can play in the playoffs
That seems to still be up in the air, this season.
They may be able to go with 17 players, in the Playoffs.
Couldn't find the article but I think it is a done deal for 17 man rosters AND two-way players to play in the playoffs
Brad Stevens on fans who want the Celtics to tank: "I don’t think they’ll like me all that much then."

I thought you were exaggerating. Nope. 92/92. I usually don't block people, but I'm going to make the exception today because he adds nothing. Troll account for sure.
