Justin James definitely seems to have some stuff to work with. I just read that he's 6'7". That does not look legit.

Looks pretty damn athletic to me. If he can just be a really good bench defender, that would work. Think he has 7-1 wingspan to work with.

Thought the same thing. He looks really small out there. I would have assumed he was 6’3-6’4.

Ah yes the Rashad Vaughn syndrome. Looks 6'1" but is really 6'5" in shoes.

There is no parallel universe anywhere in which I don't laugh hysterically until I'm literally in pain at the notion that you should draw these type of conclusions about a player's ability in the playoffs after seeing him in the playoffs once, in basically his rookie year, in the weirdest playoff situation in NBA history. JFC.
Especially when that player was fantastic in an elimination game.
Hang on, let me see what he did in big moments in college too. I wish I was a Badger fan so I would see how he played as a true freshman against a favored Badger team in a huge NCAA tournament game. Hmmm, I wonder if there's any chance he almost single-handedly brought Villanova back in the second half of that game. Would be a nice feather in his cap to go with what I heard was a pretty good tournament performance when they won the title. Not that I would base my entire perception of his ability in huge games on that, but it would be an interesting dilemma for people suggesting he's not good in huge games because struggled in his first NBA playoff action, incidentally while being asked to do too much because so many vets on the team were crapping the bed every bit as bad as he was, if not worse.
Hypothetically, of course - I haven't researched it yet.
LOL at the Badgers being favored in that game, but I get the point.

Justin James looks a legit 6'5" to me at least. His torso seems short which might be kind of deceiving by his limbs seem very long, which is a big plus. All those compression sleeves hide his long legs in that video. He's got more than adequate full-time SF size when you factor in wingspan.
Ball skills in generally look very rudimentary at first glance, but hopefully adequate. If he can be a slightly shorter Ariza type, that's a nice throw-in for the Bucks.

That part I honestly don't remember as well but I will never forget the way he played that game. It's cliche but he's such a gamer, just totally knows how to impact the game in whatever way is most called-for at the moment. He's like a SG Draymond in that sense. There's just no way a guy like that doesn't turn out to be a damn good player IMO. I have wanted him on the Bucks since watching that game and have not been disappointed. And it's not just because he had one great game, but it was the way he did it, the approach that ensures consistent individual and team success. Just like I think his bubble performance was actually very promising despite his struggles because his approach projects to high performance in the long run even if the results weren't there for a couple months in his first playoff action.
I'm not against the trade because Bogdan is a great fit with Giannis and a personal friend, but I think DDV will be significantly more valuable than Bogdan over the next 10 years simply because DDV is ~5 years younger and probably has many more good years ahead of him than Bogdan does. It's justified because the Bucks are chasing a title and paid reasonable value, but man I'm going to miss DDV.

In offense, Donte is not and will never be comparable to Bogdanovic. Just putting it out there in case anyone entertained the idea.
Donte is better in defense, but is also smaller.
This is where the comparisons stop.

Measured at Portsmouth:
6'6" without shoes
6'7" in shoes
183 lbs
8'8.5" standing reach
7'1" wingspan
3.088 3/4 court sprint
10.095 lane agility
3.017 shuttle
29.5" no step vert
The vert seems low, but they've got Terrance Mann with 29", and he was a big time college dunker also, so maybe these guys are just a lot better with a step or running. The wingspan measurements look inflated to me. The speed and agility #s are top shelf.

Not entirely convinced that Justin James even exists and that he isn't some NBA 2K auto-generated prospect.

He is. I think the biggest news that’s been flying under the radar for the past year is 2K has finally leaned how to create real life basketball players. It should be front page stuff, but sadly it isn’t.
2020 has been a crazy year.

Assuming that Giannis stays, I'm getting Duncan-esque Spurs vibes from this team.

I kept thinking that Donte would improve a lot as a shooter because he has such pretty form on his jumper, but it didn't happen to this point at least. His inability to finish around the rim was a mix of frustrating and baffling.

I don't know that I've ever screamed at my TV louder than Donte missing layup after layup in the bubble. That's really saying something because there's decades worth of TV yelling debacles out of this franchise.
