This is a league ruled by superstar players getting together to form a team...bottom dwellers can become Title contenders in one year..all it takes is for 2-3 superstars to join a given team.
I remember when the Warriors sucked for years and years, then they drafted Steph with the 7th pick and Klay with the 11th pick.

I'm not nearly as hopeless because it still is a lotto after all... but it is stupid to not make sure you have the best odds possible.

I'll reserve judgement until we see where the picks land.

I have to agree too...It's a shame they can't use draft position to help re-balance talent but human nature always games the system...you could make a similar case for capitalism or socialism- both would work fine if not for human nature looking to hack it. I think tanking is worse for NBA biz than an equal odds lottery would be. This time of the season everybody but very best teams have to at least consider their trajectory and whether they can legitimately contend...that's not healthy. Magic SHOULD be tanking with the current system but, generally speaking, I'm not for rewarding mismanagement and incompetence.

Lottery would be a huge event with 14 teams having NO idea where they land

I just don't understand how there is no tanking on NFL, it's only based on record, but everyone is playing really hard until the end. Maybe it's the fact that the players don't have so many guaranteed contracts, so they won't accept these fake injuries?

there is ABSOLUTELY tanking in the NFL. It depends on projected top of the draft and how teams' season is going after midway point. Teams were absolutely tanking for Trevor Lawrence, Jameis Winston, Joe Burrow, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck...

So who do we want to win out of OKC and Detroit, I'm leaning towards wanting an OKC win
I still believe in Magic! Welcome to the Franz & Paolo era

I’ve lost hope on catching Detroit... thus I want OKC to win. But Detroit will likely win.

Detroit has like the second easiest schedule left.

OKC win for this reason, this is one of the last remaining winnable games for them

They could easily get Cade even if the magic dont become 1. If Magic land top 4, you can package with top 10 bulls pick and that is very close. Maybe one of Carter/Okeke is enough.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Who crapped in your cereal?

The organization should just fold? Really?

You can list multiple examples of champions that weren't superteams or based in large markets.

And there are worse run organizations in the last 30 years that have won it all at some point.

Besides... The Magic made The Finals twice themselves over that span and gave themselves a chance multiple years. That's more than a lot of teams can say.

This team could be a bottom dweller until I die but I will enjoy every moment being a fan.

Because it's not championship or bust that determines my fandom. I love so many different elements that, when combined, give me joy.

Sure, wins make me feel good. A championship would be tremendous. But it's not what makes or breaks my excitement being a Magic fan.

This post isn't meant to try to change your mind about anything. But maybe it can help lighten your mood about things so you can remember why you became a fan to begin with.

Magic Together, fam.

Another star player goes down with an injury. Already reports of GM's continued frustration with the condensed season. Expect a ton of stars to continue to sit the rest of the way.

Which is more of a priority for you guys? We catch up 3rd against the pistons ornwe stave off OKC blatant tank charge?

They've been looking great now that they have their core together.

They still have games against us, houston, detroit, and the kings (twice). We actually have a chance to catch them if we tank properly.

OKC might not win another game this year at this rate. Holding off OKC for sure.

I wouldn't expect the Rockets to win another game either. They literally only have two potential wins left on their entire schedule (Minny, Orl) && tankathon has their schedule ranked the hardest remaining.

That means first odds are locked. Minny probably has enough separation to hold down 2. 3/4/5/6 will be the race.

They play OKC twice this week. Twolves could try to tank one of those. Not sure what protections are on their pick.

They have top 3 protection on it. It will definitely be interesting to see how Minny handles those OKC games.
