He has a weird hitch on his shot. Don’t like it.

Dude can play! It's not like Australia fields a bunch of scrubs and LV held his own. What stood out for me was how pesky he was on defense but seems to get easily beat (huge concern). He isn't afraid to shoot and seems like a good shooter (definitely better than Payton or DSJ). Passes seemed decent but some of them... I just wonder if guys in the NBA will pick it off. He's okay but doesn't solve our issues imo. Although definitely an improvement over Elfrid

He's here to be someone off the bench who doesn't completely suck.

Basically think of him as Austin Rivers or MAYBE Burks replacement.

I don't think he's necessarily as good as Burks, and Burks has flaws.

I'm super excited for him.

Unlike a washed up Pablo Prigioni who many of us liked we're actually getting an absolute Argentine superstar from one of the best basketball Countries in the world. Who's in his prime too.

He's going to become an awesome replacement for Elfrid Payton and an upgrade too. Because this kid knows how to run an offense @ PG (and if not he wouldn't be allowed to start for Argentina of all Countries).

Now we've gotta hit on picks 19 and 21 in order to replace both Frank and Knox with players who coach Thibs actually wants to utilize.

And then use our FA $ to replace both Bullock and Burks in our rotation.

And then we can contend for a top 3 seed.

I think that's too optimistic.
I'm looking forward to Luca, but I think maybe he's going to be more along the lines of a combo guard Facundo Campazzo

Which, by the way, would be fine for a)Not costing a draft pick and b) Making less than 3 million per year, or whatever the contract is

Ah, here it is:
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/31394335/knicks-agree-principle-four-year-deal-pg-luca-vildoza-agent-says

4 years/13 million. 3.25 million per year.

At the very least he looks like he can be a high quality guard off the bench who can shoot

He looks taller than 6’3” to me. Also, on another note…why so many international players got that hunchback posture playing style?

Definite upgrade and in terms of value, Killdoza's contract was a steal.

However he pans out, the team just better by adding him and subtracting Payton

There were reportedly multiple NBA teams looking to sign him. I can see why they'd focus on him now, because if they feel he can handle the PG duties it frees them up to trade for or draft guys who can score. Otherwise, they'd have to focus on finding a playmaker.

Getting Luca could be like getting Pablo Prigioni before he entered his prime. Instead, we got Pablo at the end of his career and like Kidd he was still good, but in limited minutes. Imagine if we'd gotten Pablo 8 years earlier. He would have been the Knicks starting PG for a decade.

I wouldn't hype Luca at this point, but I also would not be surprised if he were a key player for us next year.

I just don’t know where he fits because in all likelihood Drose is back as the backup pg and we’ll likely go hard after a starting pg(lonzo,Lowry,Sexton etc)!!!!!!!!!

I’m just unsure about his role!!!!!!!!!!!

Thibs is a bit weird about the PG role, so I can see the Knicks deciding to go with DRose and Vildoza and a third string backup PG and not spending big bucks on a FA PG.

But I don't know what they'll do. Just spit balling here

He shot 3-9, he should fit well in the Knicks PG rotation.
