If you guard players on the perimeter conventionally sagging off Simmons would cut off driving lanes. But let's just say you see something like a gimmicky 4-1 zone happening, players are positioned in the high post, not way out in no man's land. I think you have clarified your position sufficiently...
Were not talking about other players driving lanes, were specifically talking about the ball in Simmons hands with 4 guys spaced. What magical creature is cutting off Simmons driving lanes while at the same time guarding their man at the 3 pt line?
Or are you making the tired argument that his being on the court takes away driving lanes for others while hes off ball? Because its well established that having a single non shooter doesnt destroy your offense or ability to drive the ball. Somehow every team in the NBA hasnt dumped their non shooting centers and PFs and are still able to function. The suns only made it to the finals with a non shooter, but lost to the Bucks with their superstar non shooter.
You have no position. Its just throwing out "muh driving lanes!" and "muh sagging defense!" without any backing. Seems to be your MO, make stupid statements and then when called out on them run away in the face of empirical and statistical evidence.
