I think Rosas was the best. Dude knew how to tank, dude could draft his ass off, he knew talent. Ant, McDaniels, Reid (signing), Jmac (was good where we got him). Yea he had Culver but that was some last minute maneuvering, he was trying to get Garland who is great. Rosas had the eye. It's fair to knock him for colossal mess ups behind the scenes but his basketball stuff was on point.
McHale made a TON of mistakes but he was really involved and was pivotal in shaping KG's game, that's huge.
Flip was the most fun.

Yeah, I wish Rosas could control his penis... On side note Anderson+MCD+Vando+TP would be terrific wing combination that we never had for fiveout

I'll also add that Rosas made that Denver trade which was HUGE. Vando and Beasley were major parts of our playoff push. He also signed Pat Bev. Rosas also made the Wiggins trade which was big. Wiggins seemed unmovable with his contract, Dlo had potential to be just what we needed, a big time scorer at the 1. Dlo didn't work out too well but at the time it was a big boon. We thought we couldn't get off of Wiggins without taking on some really horrible deals.

I do remember, that there were rumors, that Rosas wanted to get another Lottopick in the 2020 Draft to get Tyrese Haliburton. He also resisted to trade the No. 1 Pick for pennies in a very "top-week" draft and took "Dion Waiters 2" instead.
His clarity really impresses me.

If I remember correctly MCD was also drafted via trade.

But zero backup plan in case Garland was not available at 6 , a dumb mistake not even trading Culver when he had relatively high value during the draft or even after his rookie year. Also he passes on some very good role players to take another bust that is already out of the league in Bolmaro.

Totally agree. I wouldn't fire Rosas for the coworker relationship, but the USA fake supreme morality hit him, in Europe that's not big deal.

One thing with Rosas; he was absolutely enamored with DLo. I really don't want to think about what our team would be like, even without the Gobert trade, if we were paying DLo and KAT roughly 90mil combined.

I like a lot of the moves Rosas made, but he also left Saunders with basically zero chance for success with the roster he built.

Not even close to the same thing.
Three or four years ago, Jamal was averaging 18 ppg on a WCF team as a former Top 10 pick and he would've still been on his rookie contract or just starting his extension.
Who from the Gobert does this apply to?
-Malik Beasley? Nope.
-Patrick Beverley? Nope.
-Jarred Vanderbilt? Nope.
-Walker Kessler? Nope.
-Leandro Bolmaro? LOL!
The equivalent would actually be if Connelly last year dealt Ant for Durant.

One thing is for sure--- watching the ex-Wolves in the playoffs sure makes it seem like we didn't give up much besides picks and the rights to Kessler.

I’m not worried. Three fourths of the best players on DEN were drafted by the Nuggets (2014, 16, 18) and held. Only one was traded for (Aaron Gordon). These guys have been kept together for a while, and moreover, connolly patiently waited for MPJ through his injury issues.

So our current POBO put together a team that will play for a championship this season...
Who still wants to fire him for trading guys that wouldn't have us competing for a championship and some mid first round draft picks for a 3x DPOY?

Apparently you're reading into "rumors" as if they are based in facts.
Where there's smoke.
There's multiple sources that are producing these rumors. It's the NBA unless it's player facing most of these things are rumors.
How'd that work out? Must have been a vape pen.

Re: Krawczynski: Tim Connelly as POBO (Official! page 6)
This week I have already two times heard/read that Towns and Gobert are both top-10 worst contracts in NBA
First was this podcast
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-bball-index/id1253824635
Second, was BS/BR article
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10083835-predicting-the-nbas-worst-contracts-next-season
I don't agree that neither Gobert nor Towns contracts is top-10 worst contract in NBA. At least not yet. But,
1) I can see situation get worse in 2024-25 when Gobert gets older, and Towns will be paid 50+mil.
2) Gobert and Towns have not elevated each other game yet, instead they kind of have cannibalized each other value as bigmen
It is crazy how perception of this team may vary based on results of coming season. If they fail, we might end up like a team with two top-10 worst contract in the league, no financial flexibility, limited trade flexibility and absolutely non option for free agents. If we succeed we might end up as NBA biggest kept secret.
The new season is gonna be wild!!!

I read a few of those too and really isn't about bad contracts. It's more about expectation of player performing up to the contract. So, any max or big contract players are on that list. Who do you feel will likely have a bad year? Is Brown or Booker going to live up to it? Would Towns making NBA third team and Gobert making NBA defense first team live up to their contract? Does Towns have to win MVP to worth the supermax? What is your expectations for them? Let's see how Tatum's supermax change that perspective.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
