Toronto losing to Portland & the Zach Lavine getting into fights with role players.

Both teams look ready for a tank. Definitely seems like the highest odds are on a DDR, OG, or Siakim trade.

This clippers wants to play Doc Rivers style basketball. Not much movement, simple 2 man action, kickout and shoot. A bunch of big name 30+ year old guys who dont have that much energy to move that much.

We should circle around both teams. Im ok with Lavine and DDR, but im not looking to give up much.

Why on earth would you want to blow cap money on Levine? At this point it should only be a difference making PG or wing that gets any money extended beyond this season, and Levine is neither. The one thing the Sixers don't particularly lack is offense, and that is all Levine offers at a crazy steep price. Playmaking, defense, rebounding, and maybe a bench scorer should be the sole focus right now.

Anthony Black was drafted 6th and they can't find more than 4 minutes per game for him in Orlando? Terrible pick to begin with, but at least give him some time. Poverty franchise.

He’s outside the first round in my mock. I dont like swiss army knife guards who can’t score and shoot.

Someone is gonna pay him hundreds of millions so they can be the worst team in the league?

Yeah, Cam Thomas is such a box score zero (aside from scoring) that I wonder if he will ever contribute to winning basketball. No doubt he'll make tons of money through since scoring is what gets you paid.

The typical career arc for guys like that is getting overpaid initially and scoring a lot of points for a losing team, then later once everyone recognizes the obvious, they end up as bench scorers on a good team with a defined role and have a career resurgence at that point. Jordan Clarkson and many more have done that.

Cam Thomas, in their 3 games so far:
+7BPM
-14 NetRtg On vs Off, highest on the team (-8.9Net Rtg offcourt, team plays worst when he’s off the court)

Harden also started with just 12 ast% with 2apg in his first two seasons in the league. Eventually these guys will learn how to read the defense and not force their shots. And that part is easier than becoming an efficient 30ppg scorer.

He’s not just a Jordan Clarkson level scorer. Scoring wise (im not talking overall offense), he can be as good as guys like Kyrie, Booker or Harden.

He’s not an empty scorer, rather an efficient scoring machine that can run up the score board. 7BPM, highest on v off NetRtg for his team so far.

Magic must be regretting that Paolo pick.

In a scenario where there’s no big FA to sign and we can just absorb Lavine and give up 1 or 2 protected picks, or in a scenario where they also add Coby White in that package.

Harden’s usage rate in his first 2 seasons was ~19%-20% back then. Cam Thomas has a 30% usage rate while averaging those assist numbers. The kid is a (talented) black hole on offense.

For sure. I think there’s a bright future ahead of him and he’ll develop into a better passer, just like Maxey.
