Am I the only one who just realized former NBA player and Arizona NCAA star Chase Budinger is a now an Olympic beach volleyball player?

What did Lebron do in the playoffs? He shouldn't even be on the team. Sometimes it's about politics. It's not about Tatum's shooting in the layoffs. Who did Curry shoot in the playoffs? He's team didn't make the playoffs.
Lol. Those guys you mentioned are all time greats and had multiple season mvp’s. Tatum is even questionable being the best player on his team. That’s why he gets no respect from coaches and some of his peers. They look at him like he doesn’t have a dog in him. Nice guys finish last. That’s why Kerr had the nerve to bench him, because he’s too nice. I’d like Kerr to do that to antman and booker. He’ll definitely hear something from those guys. It’s time for JT to ditch the nice guy act. Show those mf’s he can be the “man” among men. Be a fierce competitor. This would be a good motivation for the Jays coming next season.

Lebron, KD, and Steph couldn't even win a chip at the age of 26.

I kept saying it last season, doubt JT and you will eat crow.
What some of the Celtic fans will eventually learn is doubting Tatum is a bad idea.
100% of Celtic fans wanted Banner 18 since 2010.
JT got Banner 18 at the age of 26 and he's not done improving.
Prime JT will not be a wing, he will be a modern day PF.

Lol. Still doesn’t have the “dog” in him. Still don’t trust him at end of games. JT has more talent than JB, but JB has that alpha mentality. I just hope you’re right he’s not done improving because there are a lot that needed improving with JT

Re: USA Basketball Team
Jaylen Brown was so alpha he scored 20 points on 44/23/73 splits. A finals performance for the ages, shades of 2022 Wiggins. Brown scored 16% of all Celtics points, or a little less than 1/6 of a 7 man rotation, which is the kind of scoring load you expect from a true ALPHA performer.

I don't know how old you are, but if you've seen the 26-year old MJ and the 26-year old Lebron, both those greats were at their best when they were 30 years old.
If you think JT is a finished product at the age of 26 then you need to review the history of the great NBA players.
They won't even look the same if you compare how they look at 26 and 30.

Steph was born March 14, 1988.
He won his first championship in June, 2015.
Do the math.

JT won as backup to JB?
Really?
JT led the Celtics, per game, in scoring, rebounding, and assists in the 2024 playoffs.
Not sure what you were watching.

Lebron and Steph aren't 26 either, neither is AD, KD, etc... if we keep it to just why people are or are not getting playing time in the Olympics then Lebron, Steph, and KD are getting it for legacy sake and name sake. Kerr isn't going to ruffle feathers and honestly all 3 deserve it currently anyways (Lebron has been the best player on the team, KD at least in one game looks like he's not missed a beat, and Steph is the best shooter on the team and one of only a couple guys at the point getting PT once Hali was removed from rotation). AD is our best center option as Embiid has been trash, and Bam plays bigger than JT as well (although Bam's play hasn't been great since the first game or 2 either and not all teams are big enough to need 3 bigs playing).
Kerr isn't going to bench Embiid though or he would have already done it, and even though Bam hasn't been great he's not been bad enough to be benched fully. The struggle is going to be just finding playtime time for everyone, the matchups and lineups that work, and not a case of which star you're going to bench instead of JT or Hali. It's not easy as guys need minutes to get into a groove, but it's his job as the head coach.

Yeah, I agree.
But some are blaming it on JT's shooting and poor playoff performance.
I don't think both those reasons are why JT got benched.

MJ averaged 28pts as a rookie. MJ and Lebron both won regular season mvp at age 24. Tatum is a great player, but those guys you mentioned are generational talent.

I've never said JT is generational like MJ and Lebron.
Review what I said.
Again, great players are better at 30 compared to when they were 26.

Ok. So what’s the reason JT got benched then?
Booker started at the 3. and we all know shooting is the reason booker started. Also probably ball handling.

Don't jump the gun like when Ant getting the better of KD in the 1st round fooled some into thinking Ant was already better than JT.
Only to retract after Ant and the Wolves choked in the west finals.

No way. The reason we won the championship this year is because we had a group of guys who didn't need to be the "man". The fact that Tatum is a "nice guy" was a huge part of why we ultimately won. Don't let your ego get in the way of your goals.
Edwards and Booker might be the kind of guys who won't let Kerr keep them on the bench, but that would also makes them the kind of guys who would ruin a team first championship like we just won.
It's ludicrous to suggest JT isn't a "fierce competitor". The man is an NBA champion, he doesn't need to change anything, he's good.

I would be surprised if Kerr were so short sighted to use JT's poor playoff shooting as an excuse for no PT but then ignoring his entire body of work including his role in the 2021 Olympics, especially as Embiid continues to stink up the court. It's just fan reasoning. I honestly don't know Kerr's reasoning, but seems either petty, manipulative, or dumb lol. Maybe a combo of those 3.
