The reason why there was not even a home court call on the elbow was probably because Nelson ran into Kobe's space while he was in the process of swinging through with the ball. Certainly not intentional. Bryant probably didn't even see him until the last second. Nelson came out of nowhere and ran right underneath Bryant.

Also c'mon, Magic had the game won in regulation with Howard at the line, they choked, plain and simple. You can't blame the loss on that elbow by Kobe, it was not intentional. I want the Magic to win this series but c'mon, the Magic let it go.

That elbow was not intentional. That's just stupid. Why would Kobe risk an offensive foul on the biggest possession of the game? Kobe was making his move and Nelson slid under him. Good thing the officials saw that.

Great perseverance by the Lakers. They did not deserve to win this game, but the Magic left the door open and the Lakers capitalized.

An elbow to the face is a little different.

Kobe just can't win. A lot of people already dislike him, then plays like that happen and it just reinforces it.

"Thanks for tuning in to Key Moments in Finals History. At #12, we have Kobe Bryant nailing Jameer Nelson with an elbow before kicking it out to Derek Fisher for what ended up being the dagger of the series as the Lakers went on to win game 5 easily."

Yea, Magic didn't deserve it. Just horrible execution and free throw shooting.

I don't buy the Lakers getting preferential calls either. If that foul would have been called on Pietrus when he clearly hit kobe on that jumper, or Dwight Howard's blatant push of Gasol in the back, the game probably wouldn't have even gone to overtime.

Not to mention the two hard fists that Pietrus put into Gasol's back. I don't know why its being called a "shove". He clubbed the guy Steve Austin style.

The great thing about that foul is that it gets funnier and funnier every time they show the replay. Pietrus goes in with two clenched fists, hammer style.

Magic had their chances and blew them and the Lakers capitalized and made the big plays, the Magic didn't deserve to win.

If Pietrus was mad and frustrated about losing the game he shoulda punched Howard in the back for missing those 2 FT's.

Note that Howard's monster stat line has gotten no play. Stat stuffing means nothing if you don't make the plays you need to make to win the game. Sports will always be about W's and L's.

Hedo was 3-7 from the line in the 4th as well I think.

That's the funny thing about the game of basketball especially at the NBA level.

Dwight Howard is big and strong and puts up great numbers but he cost his team the game and very well a world championship because he couldn't make a FREE THROW.

How bout Fish? What a great game for his entire career. Really happy about this game. Howard has a great future ahead of him, but this one belongs to Kobe and the Lakers.

Are you serious? I mean I know you bring jokes, but I really hope that's another one. Kobe didn't help? Whatever. Great win tonight.
