DowJones wrote:I am absolutely stunned to see so many over here say things like "Top-5 easy". I can't imagine them even beating some of the Lakers teams with Shaq on it. Who guards Shaq? And how much does PJ out-coach Spo? I mean seriously...can ANYONE see Bosh guarding Shaq 1 on 1? Does ANYONE see Haslem guarding him? At least those Nets and Philly teams had 7 footers that could get in Shaq's way. Poor Chris Bosh would be on the bench with foul trouble the entire series.

I would also take some of those San Antonio teams over this Miami team. Who guards Robinson and Duncan?

Then you have the Jordan Bulls teams, the Hakeem Rockets, and all the old Celtics/Lakers squads. This Miami team isn't close to Top-5 of All-Time. He mean hell, they are only a game or two ahead of a San Antonio team that has rested starters all year and suffered a few key injuries to key players.

Heatles provide a serious challenge for other teams too. Who guards Bosh? While they're doing that, who guards the paint? It's Lebron with a competent supporting cast. Lebron is one of the GOAT, with two other future HoFers alongside. This team isn't a slouch.

That said, I rank the Monster Shaq Lakers as one of the GOAT teams. I do not think this Heatles team could beat them over 7 games, but could make a good series of it. Shaq was just too dominant. I don't think there's ever been an answer for him, other than fouling. I just think that this Heat team could beat them everywhere else. Also, Shaq would get in foul trouble easily against our ability to draw charges, and the fact that no one on that team could dream of stopping Bron and Wade on the perimeter. And if Shaq refused to leave the paint, Bosh would just rain jumpshots all day. It would be an interesting series. I'm a homer though. PEACE.

You're assuming that Lebron would be able to walk on a sprained ankle..

Tayshaun Prince stopped this current Lebron. Not only is Bowen arguably the best perimeter defensive player ever, but the Spurs team defense back then was fantastic.

Best team of all time because 33 wins streak > 72-10 regular season record imo. But let's see if they can accomplish that first.

I don't know where they'd rank, but they would have truly "arrived." The way they're playing now is probably what most expected in 2010.

If you base the remaining list on who they've had the hardest time with so far and who realistically has the talent to actually break them out of this roll they are on? It's 2 of the 3 teams on that list (the Spurs or the Knicks). The Spurs seem like the obvious choice but it wouldn't be surprising (we've seen it before) for the Spurs to play only their backup against the Heat and rest the big guys for the playoffs. The Knicks have beat the Heat by 20 twice and was up by 17 in the game that they eventually did lose down the stretch. At full strength, and the Knicks appear to be finally heading out of the malaise that they've been in since the last win against the Heat many games back, the Knicks 3 point shooting and Carmelo Anthony match up well (relatively speaking of course) to the Heat. It is possible though that the Knicks also will look to rest up for the playoffs (considering the age of their team) depending on what the standing looks like on that last day of the regular season.

wouldn't shock me if it ends in Chicago..but if it ends anytime soon vs the Spurs seems most likely.

OMG can you imagine the nuclear level firestorm that would occur if Pop plays mind games and sits his guys in that game.

I mean it would please me to no end simply because of the NBA putting it on their PPV channel, but no more than it would asterisk the 33 record for ad infinitum.

Haha now that you brought it up I pray to Zeus it happens.

I can't think of a better series than this years Heat vs the 96 Bulls. Jordan on Wade, Pip on Lebron, Rodman on Bosh, Harper on Ray. Pippen and Rodman are imo the two best defenders you could craft to guard Lebron. They could take turns. Lebron is so strong it would make it interesting, but I can see those two giving him hell. But who knows, Lebron could just beast mode it on them and destroy everyone's nostalgia. But even switching Jordan to him late in games would be a great idea. MJ probably do even better.

I think this whole 'streak' thing has blown way out of proportion...
Even with 25 consecutive wins (most of them against mediocre teams) they're merely 2 wins ahead of the Spurs for the NBA best record.

Come on...
the times, they are a-changing

I know I'm going to get a million angry Heat fans flaming me for this take, but I'm really not that impressed by the Heats winning streak. For the most part, it's been a pretty cupcake schedule that they've been racking up these wins against. Granted, there are a couple of no-joke wins in there, but a good majority of these wins are coming against pretty weak opponents. Looking over the teams they've beat in this stretch, I can count maybe 5 or 6 that were against quality opponents..... OKC, MEM, LAC, IND, BOS and maybe HOU. The rest are teams they have no business losing to in the first place. Shoot, even with BOS, while they always play MIA hard, with how bruised up they are, the Heat should have beat them too.

Speaking of their schedule, it stays Charmin soft for them to end the season too. They won't lose next week with their only game with a moderately talented team being Chicago, and they're in a complete tail spin right now. The one real challenging game they have left on their schedule is the Spurs game. If they beat SAS, I could legitimately see the Heat just sweeping the rest of the regular season (assuming Spo doesn't rest guys). Seriously look at this joke of a schedule they've got to finish out the year.....

vs CHA
@ ORL
@ CHI
@ NOH
@ SAS
vs NYK
@ CHA
vs PHI
vs MIL
@ WAS
vs BOS
vs CHI
@ CLE
vs ORL

Only 6 games against playoff teams, those being CHI, BOS, NYK, MIL and SAS. The Bulls have been a total disaster since the ASG and who knows if or when Rose will ever come back. And even if he does come back, who knows how rusty he'll be for having been out so long. Then the Celtics and Knicks are both drudging their way through horrifically injury plagued seasons. Finally you got Milwaukee who, while a playoff team in the East, are the textbook definition of a mediocre .500 team. So like I said, the only real test they will face to finish off the season is the Spurs. If they can get past that, they could easily sweep the season clean.

But again, getting back to my point, you can see why I'm not terribly impressed with Heat ripping off a ton of wins that are mostly against teams that they grossly overpower.

I don't like the Heat, but who cares who they have played?

Every team goes through weak schedules, but they don't win 25 in a row.

You can analyse the strength of a schedule all you like, but for every team that you find winning 10+ in a row, you will find a 1000 more that didn't win that many.

Regardless of the opposition, 25 wins is damn impressive.

Again, i don't like the Heat and i hope they fail where it matters, but you can't argue this. They have been incredible of late.

Again, outside of about 5 or 6 "good teams", the rest of those wins are against WILDLY inferior talent. I'll list it to prove it......

@ TOR
vs CHA
vs HOU
vs LAC
vs LAL
vs POR
@ OKC
@ ATL
@ CHI
@ PHI
vs CLE
vs SAC
vs MEM
@ NYK
@ MIN
vs ORL
vs PHI
vs IND
vs ATL
@ PHI
@ MIL
@ TOR
@ BOS
@ CLE
vs DET

Now, lets look at the "good wins", which for this case will be playoff teams.....

vs HOU - That's a decent win. They can be a very good team, but they're unpredictable and it was a home game for MIA. I can't say this one is wildly impressive because they should be Houston at home, but it was against a Western Conference playoff team, so I'll give this a good win stamp.

vs LAC - Definitely a "good win". Again, home court for MIA, but a good win none-the-less.

vs LAL - No. This is not a good win, not with the mess that is the Lakers this year and not when it's in Miami.

@ OKC - This was a great win, no question.

@ and vs ATL - I just watched Portland beat Atlanta on the 2nd night of a B2B and in Atlanta..... sorry, not impressive.

@ NYK - The Knicks are the NBA's version of the Walking Dead. With how beat up they are, I can't be impressed by that win.

vs IND - Great win.

vs MEM - OK win. Miami should beat them, so..... yeah. This is a "meh" win.

@ MIL - Again, as I said in my last post, they're wildly mediocre and MIA should beat them, so not impressive.

@ BOS - OK win, but again, Miami should beat up a old Celtics team without their best player.

So of those wins against playoff teams, you can generously say there's about 5 or 6 "good wins", the rest all against far inferior playoff teams. The for the non-playoff teams, the Heat have been drawing some of the worst of the worst teams in the league and will continue to do so to finish off the year.

The hardest thing is beating teams you are suppose to beat CONSISTANTLY...if it was easy more teams would win this many in a row.

we have beat some damn good teams....yeah those wins you mentioned are the best wins but when you factor in there are only what..3/4 legit contenders for the title? so not many...there aren't loads of quailty teams out there. These teams will always be rated lower than Miami. To win this many in a row you are obviously not going to play great teams all the time...the fact you can stay focused and consistant is what makes this streak great....12 straight road wins too. Even against the lesser teams winning consistantly on the road is one of the hardest things you can do.

God knows how you class Memphis as a meh win..they are one of the top teams in the league this year with a great frontcourt.
