Bench was the reason we wong. Massive kudos to Seraphin, Porter, and company for holding it down. And even more props to the starters for doing what they should have done, putting an inferior team away.

Love Wall's overall game. Love Beal doin' work in the 2nd half. Love Seraphin actually playing well! And Porter...finally, a solid game from him. Imma stay half mast for the rest of the evenin.

Man, Drummonds really had his way with them. So did Monroe.

Thank God Josh Smith is an idiot and takes so many bad outside shots. And that Jennings was chucking.

Aside from that. I told you Otto was getting ready to break out. Seems like he is just on the edge of getting there. That going to help a lot. We needed another player.

Mad props to Wall though. HUGE GAME for him. He is why they one. Specially the DAGGER BUCKET.

I'd do anything to not have his Harden-esque defense on this team.

This sounds like typical group think mentality. While his reputation as a defender is poor, his synergy stats say otherwise. He even ranks higher then Dwight on defensive PPP this season.

Even so how do you propose we get him? Signing him outright means no Ariza and no MLE for another free agent to fill up the holes. Plus hes a RFA, if Detroit matched our offer we'd be up the creek.

Ariza with another quietly awesome stat line, on 11 shots he had 15/11/4 with 6(six!) steals and only one turnover.

The Washington Wizzards are simply a better team than the Detroit Pistons.

Look at the guys Monroe is playing with. Does anyone really think he wouldn't be a 20 ppg player with Wall as a pg?

I would look to sign Monroe over Gortat.

Ya I understand. He's not a realistic FA target I just said I want him on the team.

Great win. Once again, John Wall was the best player on the court. So we won.

Very nice team effort though. Nobody other than John really stood out but
that cut 2 ways as no one stood out as being really bad, to me at least, either.
Come to think of it, Beal did struggle in the first half but bounced back.
KSera had a bad stretch but still managed to not be completely useless.

Nice confirmation win. Confirmation that we are the better team than DET at least right now.
This was another game where I was still optimistic even when we started the
4thQ down 9. Huge considering what Buck said about us not having won a road
game where we were down that far in the 4th in basically forever, like since the
early 2000s.

Another solid effort by Porter but the PotG is clearly Wall with all the FTs
and over 25 pts. No question he is an AllStar and the best PG in the east.

Porter is showing us a little more each game. Despite all the sky is falling
rhetoric, he may yet wind up being worthy of the 3rd pick.

Gortat getting outrebounded by every other starter... and Ariza with a ridiculous stat line.

Would really hate to lose him in free agency... Maynor's $2million would really come in handy next year...

It would likely mean no Gortat, Ariza or MLE type. The Wiz would have to renounce those guys to sign Monroe to an offer sheet. Bright side is that those renouncings (renunciations ???) would be revokable if Detroit matched. But, this is The Issue (wrote about it over at the blog a few weeks ago) facing the Wizards -- they're really not going to be in position to ADD talent via free agency. They could REPLACE guys like Gortat, Ariza and Booker (rotation free agents), but signing a significant free agent means these guys are departing. Using cap space could be "addition" if the free agent's production is significantly better than the departing players. Otherwise, it's replacement -- changing the names and jersey numbers, but not the team's overall trajectory.

So, I think they're going to re-sign their rotation free agents and then go shopping for depth using the MLE. And then hope someone (or some-two or some-three) from the Wall-Beal-Porter trio blossoms into an elite player.

Potentially a level changing win. A win like that can bump a team 5 more wins over the course of the season.

Big game against Dallas at home up next.

DC fans need to come out and make some noise.

They just won 4 out of 5 on the road. That's a statement. Easier team or not. Slow schedule or not.

That win in DET on back to back against the same team was HUGE.

Didn't think they had that in them, but I was hoping they did

three home game coming up. Get out and support.
