The writing is on the wall. Lance Stephenson should sign with the Charlotte Hornets for 4 years/$38 million

Tricky Ricky trying to flex his muscles, as if he's not a weak source for intel of what the Hornets are doing...
Someone that can get on Twitter right now should ask him - based on what evidence? I doubt he'd respond, but you can't just throw something like that out there if you have nothing to back it up.

Obligatory, I guess we're signing Lance post.

Re: The Lance Stephenson Thread
That dismissive tweet basically suggests Bonnell won't cover the possibility of Lance. He's really doing the fans of Charlotte a disservice by refusing to at least acknowledge the pro-Lance camp and flesh out some of the rationale for why he could be a realistic target. What a butthole.

I wish I knew someone connected to the Observer, it's high past time that they found someone else to cover the team.

Re: The Lance Stephenson Thread
Ben (Charlotte): who's the 3 the Hornets should be targeting in FA. all out for Parsons?Kevin Pelton, NBA Insider: I don't think that Parsons is really going to be on the market. I also don't think the Hornets see small forward as their biggest need. I think they're more likely to pursue a shooting guard. That could be Gordon Hayward, but I think we're looking at Lance Stephenson.

Re: The Lance Stephenson Thread
Lance is having leverage problems, he wants to go to up and coming or contending team, we supposedly like him, he is friends with Kemba and we have cap to offer him a nice contract......its only a matter of time!

Seeing Bonnell post again about Deng is funny as hell.

Is he worth more? No, but the current desperation of overpay in the free agency market 'might' help his case

His agent publicly announced Lance is worth 'much more'. After witnessing a market where Avery Bradley gets 8 million, I'd say he has a pretty accurate read on it. The market was just as irrational when the Pelicans signed Tyreke Evans for 4 years 44 million.

If Cho thinks Stephenson isn't worth his asking price (what do I know?), what are the Hornets' legitimate alternatives? Can we really be looking at going another season with Hendo starting at the 2? Maybe there's a sign-and-trade scenario with the Pacers or something. OJ Mayo? Lord help us. Eric Gordon? Ariza? Drafting PJ was nice, but the Hornets need a starting-quality 2 in the first five.
Or fix some spacing issues by signing Deng or Pierce to a short-term contract and bring MKG off the bench. And I truly don't want to have that debate again! But if Charlotte doesn't upgrade on the wing they'll not reach the playoffs.

Exactly. Parsons will not be an easy get, and Heyward would be even harder. Both of those players complicate the SF position relative to MKG. If they are eager to abandon Hyphen, then they might try to force a S&T, but why would Houston or Utah do that?
Lance is the guy we need. He and his agent are exploring his market value, and the leaked impass with the Pacers was designed to get more offers and more money. Now they are seeing where the offers might come from. Gotta believe he is there for us. Hope Cho is not scared off by an Alpha-Dog. If he passes on Lance I'll p*ss in his granola.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

My hope is we can sell Henderson + Neal's contracts into this irrational market and make it possible to sign Chandler Parsons outright - no sign & trade. With Lance + Hairston + CDR lurking we can afford to take that risk. We'd have to sign Lance 1st before sending out Henderson + Neal.
Look at this and tell me if this looks like the most exciting young team in the NBA
Kemba Walker (24)
Lance Stephenson (23)
PJ Hairston (21)
Chandler Parsons (25)
Michael Kidd Gilchrist (20)
Noah Vonleh (18)
Cody Zeller (21)
Bismack Biyombo (21)

Re: The Lance Stephenson Thread
With the C.J. Miles signing, if Indy wants to stay out of the luxury tax then they are officially out of the Lance sweepstakes. Here is a good article on their cap situation - http://8points9seconds.com/2014/06/05/p ... nt/#!7oUrR
Signing Miles drops that by Miles's contract amount.
All depends on whether Pacers are willing to go into the luxury tax.
Assuming the luxury tax threshold stays at the current projection ($77 million), the Pacers would have $9.7 million of space that could expand to $12.6 million if they released Scola.
...
[T]he realistic “available for Lance” money in year one is $6.5 million (with Scola) and $8.5 million (without).
Signing Miles drops that by Miles's contract amount.
All depends on whether Pacers are willing to go into the luxury tax.

Heat fan here in peace
Wouldn't parsons for a little more money be a great fit
Jefferson
Vonleh
Parsons
MKG
Walker
You could also use his height to make him a stretch four and use him in a lot of creative ways
Please get this done
I want the east to be stronger lol

Are you by any chance a Florida Gators fan also?
BTW, Parsons would be a great fit as a 6th man that could be used as a swiss army knife by our team at multiple positions with his versatility
