TyTy Washington continued to look the part of a lotto guy tonight despite the close game against some DIII'ers

I think we've got to see how the college season rolls out. This time last year, I think the consensus was pretty much Cade at #1, Mobley #2, and Kuminga somewhere in the top 5. While not far off from how things played out, I think being able to see the guys play in action will really help us get a better idea of where everyone's at. I think there's going to be unexpected random draft stock risers like Suggs, Barnes, Giddey, Wagner, etc.

Holmgren
Griffin Jr
Banchero
Ivey
Smith
Baldwin Jr
Houstan
Prkacin
Collins
Watson
These are the ten I like the most so far. It seems as if every NBA team could all get one exciting wing prospect added as an equal share lol. Loaded in that type of position.
Anyway excited for this year’s crop!

One of the highest upside wing prospects for me. Late bloomer with a possibly expanding skillset. Could be a menace defensively. Top 10 for me with possibility to move into the top 5 if he demonstrates projectable on ball ability.

Suggs and Barnes are not some random stock risers lol...and many people had Wagner as a possible lotto back after his FS season...like me
yes there are always players that rise up but your options there are not it lol.

This, no one really rose last year like Ja Morant did.
We could say Joshua Primo rose, but usually risers are only applied to the top 5-10 picks.

Josh Giddey? I’d say he rose by a noticeable clip from beginning of the season until where he was drafted. Looked like a late first rounder the start.

Josh Giddey and Davion Mitchell are the ones that qualify

Re: 2022 NBA Draft
Does Chet have demigod potential? (KD/Giannis) I’d lean no. Doesn’t have the athletic traits of either.
I see a more 7ft Ingram but more advanced on that end and a 7ft KP not a great defender but good shot blocking potential.
Skillwise he’s for sure number 1. But a 7ft Tayshaun Prince from a body stand point. Just quickly watching College Mobley again he’d body Chet right now lol. That’s a physical mismatch.

Chet has a mean streak. He has the personality of Jordan. He has the desire to destroy you on the court and then beat you up in your home. That is actually his greatest attribute.
For how much I like Paolo, his size and skill, Chet's mental aspect is difficult to beat. I don't know what Paolo is like mentally, need to read his body language this season and listen to him speak in interviews.

I'm really high on TyTy. No. 5 on my board. I honestly think he could be an all-star eventually.

Paolo has a competitive drive too. Mike Schmitz did a interview with him recently and at the end Mike asks him a question about what motivates him and what type of player he is gonna be 5 yrs from now. Paolo gives his answer with confidence and as he stops talking he is sitting there holding the mic with this look on his face - this look of sheer determination like he has a mission to accomplish to be a complete monster on the NBA level and he doesn't give a f&ck who's standing in his way he's gonna make it happen, even if his grandma is standing in his way. There was a point during one of Duke's scrimmages recently where Mark Williams made a nice dunk and then the camera shows paolo with that same look, that mean but focused/determined/confident look as if he's thinking "you kidding me? Me at the 4 and Mark at the 5? We're gonna beat the sh%t out of everybody this year).
Really like the mental makeup of both Chet and Paolo. Their mentality + diverse skill set + size. Really like both of them and look forward to watching their development over the coming months/years.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft
Paolo is legit and has been as professional as can be (stripping down weight, outsourced coaching etc). Is more physical obviously.
But Chet is the more skillful basketball player, more valuable position but his weakness which is very valid is his body type. I don’t really care much but with Chet it’s different. I think 7ft Prince is about how his body composition will develop in the end.
Taller advanced Ingram+ on offense and 7ft Porzingis shot blocker on the other is still are very high ceiling player. Just don’t know about MVP potential.
He has to destroy College this year being on the older scale of things.

Yep, no real risers at the top and no real fallers. All of Cunningham, Green, Mobley, Suggs and Barnes were really hyped coming into the season and all met or exceeded the hype which is pretty unusual, I guess you can say Giddey and Mitchell were late risers and Jalen Johnson and Boston were fallers but at the very top, it stood true to form.
In any event, the 2021 draft was hyped as a possible generational draft for several years prior. I don't feel quite the same about this draft but it does seem to have a deep pool of good prospects so looking forward to getting a good look at them especially since my Pistons will be in the thick of the tank race once again.

Chet has good defensive awareness and block timing. He might get over powered in matchups but I don’t think it will result in an attack Avenue for opponents overall. He just needs to not be a liability.

I think he’ll be decent as a shotblocker/rim protector but I’m not buying elite defensive traits. He is the number one prospect for sure but that could change depending on overall performance.
I don’t want him to bulk up no way but some natural mass gain would def be beneficial. 7ft Prince (less motor) on one end and a more advanced 7ft Ingram (more fluid bet less fluid and quick than KD but has 2inches on him age for age easy) on the other is what I’m hoping to see.
Should take up swimming he’s ideal for that and it’ll make him get stronger without the joint pain (except for shoulders but they’d be trainers there to help him with technique so that’s no troubles).
Everyone in the NBA should swim, do yoga, boxing and high intensity running. I reckon those disciplines are far superior than just lifting heavy weight all the time. Best for fluidity and functionality, small weights are fine for form but players don’t need excess most of the time. (That depends of course of your body composition).
Porzingis for example needs to drop back down. Too top heavy and he’s always been weak in the post so the extra weight is actually a big disadvantage because he has a weak core, skinny frame anyway.
He’s just making himself more injury prone without him realizing it.
Chet has a huge ceiling as a byproduct of his skillset and length.

I'm right there with you. Waiting to hear back on whether I can go see him in person tomorrow at MSG. He looks so unrushed and in control. Sticks out amongst so many flailing college PGs who don't know how to control the pace. Knocking on wood here but I think this is gonna be a nice breath of fresh air for Kentucky fans after last year.

I was pretty sure BJ Boston had a lot of top ten hype before the season started last year so that's a obvious big faller
