Mikal, Donte, OG, Josh, and Julius will cover all of the 2/3/4 minutes. Donte and Josh are already having their minutes reduced with Mikal coming, so there is just no more room for Deuce unless injuries happen.

Even if Mitch is healthy and starting, he should only be playing 20-25 mpg tops which leaves at least half of the C minutes.

Isaiah is clearly a better player than Deuce by every metric, and fills a much bigger need for us. Hopefully it doesnt come down to losing Deuce, but it is what it is.

i don't disagree but i don't think the knicks have to choose between deuce or ihart. it still comes down to if Ihart will actually take our deal or not. knicks aren't going to make moves (including one as impactful as trading away deuce) just for the ability to offer ihart the max deal and hope he takes it. if he indicates he'll take it, knicks have other options other than trading deuce to free up the money.

So they’re going to make it harder on us to keep our team together, and restrict what we can do if we go and stay over the 2nd apron.

It seems we only have a few years to win it all, then we’ll probably have to unload players unless we’re okay with all the limitations.

This is why we made the Mikal trade now. We wouldn’t even be able to do a trade like this without giving up core players soon as I understand it.

Thanks Silver. Now you want “parity”. Good timing. Just like when they changed the lottery odds in 2019 right when we had the worst record lol. I guess it will be that much sweeter now when we climb the mountain.

Of course we shouldn’t have interest in moving Deuce. If we did add him to the Mikal trade we should take a 1st back. There are other ways to complete it. Just saying if it came down to Deuce vs Isaiah Im taking Isaiah all day.

That article throws out Bitadse, Drummond, and Nick Richards as potential Isaiah replacements. Richards is a new name. Put up solid stats for Charlotte, but his team obviously sucked. I’d still go with Goga as my top choice.

This. Also Mikal is best at defending 1s and 2s. Most of the time he will guard the opponents PG. I love Deuce as well. In a vacuum he is a super valuable player on a amazing contract. But on this team and the way it is constructed regarding lineups and matchups, he is probably the odd man out

I see down didn’t learn from last years idc how lineup looks now. Give me all the players anything can happen. Deuce will be fine in back up role. There will not be any crying. Minutes will be kind of even and I don’t think anyone cares.

Keep Deuce.

I even saw some handwringing around the 4 draftees.
These are players to continue to develop, to keep building organizational depth.
Never know when they'll be put in a trade OR used to backfill the Knicks trading someone like OG or even Mikal or Randle.
I hope the current team stays together for a nice 3 or 4 year run, but odds are the team won't look the same in 2 seasons.

I dont want to lose him either. But if he is the only path to keeping Hartenstein, you do it considering his expected role on that team. His value wont be higher in the future as well

We won't know until the July 2nd at the earliest. If Lithuania doesn't qualifies for the Olympics, he said he wants to come over for Summer league.
