He's going 3 to the rebuild Nets who will secure a go-to scorer for their tank.

He's not falling.

Sixers are taking calls.

He won't get to 8 (Nets) so Nets will get to Ace.

They can include Cam Johnson and reassert Philadelphia as a playoff team.

Sixers can take Khaman Maluach (8) as insurance for Embiid and maybe fill out the roster with any number and combination of the other 3 firsts Brooklyn owns.

The Nets have the most flexibility for moves in this entire draft.

ive posted plenty good ace tweets in this thread and the general thread... but most of the ace news has been negative lately.
I have my own opinions, which ive shared, but when it comes to you posting the stuff I find on Twitter I generally tried to post pretty much anything I see that is interesting or related to anyone in our draft range. I'm honestly not trying to gate keep positive ace news.

37 on 10 dribble reminds me of two players
1. klay... not sure ace is that level of shooter ever
2. barnes... he was/is notorious for scoring on limited dribbles. ace could be what barnes was supposed to be when he came to unc. barnes just never had the handles or the alpha mentality to be more than he was.

I don't see it, ace will get where wants but I think it will cost him going outside top 4

Fats has been posting lots of mixed reviews of everyone, just trying to keep the discussion going. Relax with the conspiracies, mods don't try to control opinion, just try to keep it interesting and non hostile for everyone. Especially for us older guys who spend way too much time on here.

Different of opinions are inevitable, I often have to remind myself that my opinion is irrelevant anyhow. The team will do their own thing.

We want to keep this place busy, because we don't want to start posting elsewhere.

We know his ego is oversized, and he wants to be the guy.

The Nets roster is the most open roster in the NBA.

He would get maximum touches to develop as a #1 option.

He's not getting to 8.

The Nets have 4 picks in the first round.

You don't see where this could go?

At the combine when asked about going to Utah at 5 he says “even if I go 6 I’ll feel blessed.” This is not a bad kid. Describes himself as funny and competitive. Agent and media doing this kid a disservice

Wass, on a video cast that Fats posted on the open thread, isn’t very high on Ace because of the weaknesses in his game, and identifies stats that are troubling….but acknowledges his upside has potential for a very solid player. Having said that, he said his sources say he will not get past Charlotte and certainly not past Utah. Implied he thought both teams place him high enough above others that, short of a trade, they’d draft him. Discounts the blabber coming from his agent, who has NEVER been an agent before. Doesn’t ascribe this strategy to Ace.

If we hear his name called after “…the Charlotte Hornets select…” I will not assume he will remain a Hornet.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

That's a legit stance.

I just see multiple teams positioned to move up, while holding the capital to move up. I think it's low probability all of those teams sit still and wait for their guy to drop because you risk missing out.

5 & 21 (worked out Fears 2x)
6 & 18 (worked out Fears off site at undisclosed location)
7 & 23 (just traded for 23 with Indiana during the Finals)
8 & 19 & 26 & 27

You may have doubts about something happening, but from where I stand I have doubts about nothing happening.

The mid post game is what sold me on this kid. He has legit post moves in the mid post and has a signature jump hook shot. This kid is actually skilled.

We would be crazy to pass him up.

Teams 5, 6, 7, 8 are positioned to make an offer to move up to 3 for him.

I predict one of them will.

Since Philadelphia is built to win now, I side more with the teams that can add value to the offer in the form of a player (in addition to a second first round pick).

I think Ace is daring the Sixers to pass on him, knowing his stock at 3 is firm for this group drafting 5-8, all teams holding multiple first round picks.

One of them is bound to see him as a #1 scorer.

The dude has a deep bag and you trade up for a #1 scorer, not for VJ Edgecombe (3rd option at best) nor Kon (glue guy), nor Tre Johnson (huge questions on defense).

Ace could be that rare #1 scorer who plays stellar defense. He could be that alpha who wants the ball in big situations and doesn't shrink from the moment.

Sixers either take this guy or select him for one of the teams that follow.

If the Hornets were to trade up a sliver, it would be for this dude.

He feels like a BKN Net though with all those shot attempts and touches up for grabs there. Their roster/rebuild is ground zero.

Thanks for mentioning it. I didn't want to try to paraphrase what he said in that video because I did think he did a really good job of explaining why some people including himself did have some concerns over Ace in his game and nothing related to him being immature or 18 or trying to force his way to a particular situation. As you mentioned he said almost 100% of that is coming from Cooper his agent who has never been an agent before.

But he did do a pretty good job of explaining why there are some real concerns to his game as it stands. It's worth a listen even if you don't believe it it's at least worth a listen to understand why there are some teams that have concerns about his game completely unrelated to the shenanigans from his agent.

He has a nose for the bucket. One swift motion and the ball goes in the bucket even when he sees the rim out of the corner of his eye.

I'd rather have Ace shoot near the rim blindfolded than Salaün with his eyes wide open.

6th Jeff took this dude. Ace will not fall past 6th in a better draft.

Mind-boggling.
