I never bought this whole idea that those guys would be afraid of being "too small" in NY. They want to prove they don't just ride LeBron and can actually do their own thing, and NY gives them the best chance to succeed at that.

Think of it like the cast of Entourage and what has happened in that show.

Well, to be candid, LA >>> NY in this respect (entertainment).

Absolutely, I'm just not really considering the Clippers as a serious threat in this process.

Yeah Wes is taking an L this year to go with his 3 Ws. Remember that ugly girl group who disbanded because a couple girls in the group were struggling for power? Ultimately 2 left and became the Cheetah Girls or something like that? Well they started out as 3LW so this is who Wes is now.

im madd you compared west to 3LW

I think WWW's influence om LeBron wasn't ever that great anyway. This is one of the biggest FA bonanzas in the NBA history, LeBron is his own man, so why would he tip his hand to ANYONE outside of Maverick, Leon Rose and the cat Braylon slapped in that Clev nightclub? I mean I'm sure LeBron has more people in his inner circle but I don't believe he has tipped his intention or even discussed what he may do to any more than 3 I mentioned above. I bet he hasn't even told his mom anything in fearing she may run her mouth to the wrong person.

Broussard's source was more than likely 3LW like I figured

I always thought about that as well. It really makes no sense. However, Leon Rose has supported the idea of Lebron coming to NY all along.

In my mind, Wes is like the guy in "He Got Game" that's slamming Lola while she is talking to Jesus on the phone.

I'm pretty sure Wesley would have told a newspaper the exact same thing if they ever asked him. People have some strange ideas about how LeBron makes up his mind and about the myth that is WWW. Key word: myth.

It's different by a lot because it means Wes is not even going to be there as previously reported.

And this is relevant because?

LeBron is attending his FA meetings with his agent and his business manager. Seems pretty standard.

WWW was always expected to be in the picture and attend the meetings. Two days ago there was the article about the power struggle between Carter and WWW, and today this comes out. WWW seems less and less important by the day, that's the relevance.

Yeah Maverick "Mr Ed Grill" Carter is just a piggybacker like that little dude on the back of The Blaster in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome

Remember The Blaster got laid out and the little old midget started crying like a bish. Really what is Maverick without James?

With so many guys trying to influence him (WWW, Mav, etc.) I hope Lebron will be man enough to put an end to the circus and prove he's the one in charge. As Wes wants the Bulls and Maverick Carter wants him to remain in Cleveland, Lebron could pick NY (or another team) just to make it clear he's the one making the decision. At this point, I think Lebron will pick his team (after he meets with all six teams) and won't care much about what Wes or Mav want. He knows these guys have their own agenda.

Still, this has zero relevance on the LeBron sweepstakes. People who thought that Wesley would determine LeBron's destination were delusional. People who think Maverick Carter is anything more than LeBron's assistant are equally delusional. The power struggles amongst the entourage may make for entertaining gossip, but they aren't much help when it comes to guessing where LeBron James decides to play basketball for the rest of his career.

Are they?

I agree, but the fact that WWW is being erased from the process by LeBron and his "team" pretty much makes 80% of the rumors we've been hearing meaningless. We all thought they may be meaningless to begin with, but this pretty much confirms a lot of that. I'm not saying its the most important piece of information we've ever heard, but it is certainly relevant.

Rose probably has nothing to lose. If Lebron was going to jettison him he can do it regardless of where they are in. From an agent standpoint not like if James was in NY it being more likely that someone like Arn Tellem would be able to pounce on James (which, if you think about it, IS what we really need).

Maverick Carter runs LeBron's marketing and everything else. What would provide more marketing opportunities and therefore more $$$ than NY?

He risks being bounced for more skilled "marketiers". No other place better for that to happen than on Madison avenue.

I never bought this whole idea that those guys would be afraid of being "too small" in NY. They want to prove they don't just ride LeBron and can actually do their own thing, and NY gives them the best chance to succeed at that.

Ultimately, yeah, who knows what each guy really wants and IMHO it doesn't matter cause Lebron James seems smart enough and strong willed enough to ultimately be making his own decision.

This one always made me laugh...yet all summer he's been putting things out there like for other teams to make room for CP3.

This was never true to begin and let's so 3LW got word back to WU, then shame on WU for listening to this clown.

Return to New York Knicks
