Mandel is an idiot. He's getting after Badger fans who are fine with the move, saying this was the best three year stretch in Badger history. He somehow forgot about the coach who came directly before Bielema, had a better three year winning percentage and won three bowls, two of them being the Rose.

One of the reporters during the B1G championship game said they had asked Barry if he was ever going to coach again and he dodged the question with sort of a glimmer in his eye. I wonder if this is Barry's plan and he already knew this was potentially coming.

Maybe Barry wants to take this job on?

I'd only want Barry back as a figure-head coach. Bring in the next Paul Chryst to handle the X's and O's.

Or, you know, just bring back Paul Chryst.

Yeah, I don't want Alvarez as the next coach.

I wouldn't really care. He would have the most recent National Championship among B1G coaches, you'd think he could pimp that on the recruiting trail.

I'd take Hazell from Kent State too. Just say no to Alavarez. I'm fine with Chryst if the thought is he can recruit well. Schematically I love him.

Via GopherHole

His desire to stick it to Tim Brewster on the field knows NO bounds.....

Brewster is an assistant at Miss St.

For those of you that rip Bielema's in-game coaching, I don't think Alvarez was much better. He was a great recruiter and is in higher regard for building this program with his bare hands, but he sucked as a coach a lot.

Darrel Bevell? I'm assuming he's happy pursuing NFL stuff.

Does an outgoing coach normally coach the bowl games?

No, that's why it's a little weird that he wants to.

His epilepsy pretty much guarantees he's our coach as long as we want him. No one wants to deal with that if they don't have to.

Edit: I obviously know you were joking.

Editx2: Plus he looks too much like a Gopher to coach any where else.

Yeah, I could understand if he was leaving for the NFL, but to announce you are leaving for another school but not yet?

Um yeah, about that... MT @GreggDoyelCBS: Bielema in February: “We at the Big Ten don't want to be like the SEC - in any way, shape or form"

LOL

Seriously. Brett Favre. The program may crumble but I'd LOL at how randomly hilarious that would be.
