How about we don't make any trades, and let Masai handle the roster management?

Play him at PF tell him not to shoot threes or long twos

lol Det just signed Smith. They won't trade him unless the team screws up badly and IMO, they'll look at shipping Monroe out before Smith.

I don't think Smith in Toronto is a good look either. With Gay gone, you literally have noone to count on on offense

Sorry this isn't directed towards u

I'm not an idiot I know they just signed him and I know he wouldn't be moved and I know this trade will never happen it was all hypothetical just basically asking if u would rather have Smith instead of Gay and therefor swapping them.

Ur just the third person to tell me he just got signed and I said in my first post "I know this would never happen"

Don't mean to sound like an ass, but some of these trades are ridiculous.

Trading for Smith?

Trading Gay for Smith?

Trading Gay for Love?

Come on fellas.

Toronto gets: Deng and his expiring contract.
Toronto sends: Demar and Novak

Philly gets: Boozer's horrible contract and Charlotte's protected 1st rounder
Philly sends: Thaddeus Young

Chicago gets: Demar, Young and Novak.
Chicago sends: Boozer, Deng and Charlotte's protected 1st.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=m476yd3

Chicago does it to get under the tax first and foremost. They also get younger. Young can play the 4 with Butler at the 3 and Demar at the 2. With Rose and Noah, I like that starting 5. They also get shooting off the bench from Novak. Did I mention they get out of the tax?

Philly does this trade to pick up the Charlotte 1st rounder which gets more valuable every passing year they suck. Perhaps the flip Boozer later or even buy him out at the deadline.

Raps do this to create flexibility and remain competitive(sorry tankers) while opening up playing time for Ross and to some extent Fields. Gay under this scenario would be the starting 4 and if he doesn't like it he can join the free agent market with Luol next summer. However if it works perhaps they both stay at more reasonable rates.

Val Amir Gray
Gay Tyler Acy
Deng Daye
Ross Fields
Lowry Buycks DJ
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

No thanks. It helps us tank, but doesn't get us enough value back in a trade.

I like Tristan, but do you see him being anything more than an energy big?

+ 2014 1st round pick?

$15MM expiring and a decent prospect (assuming he builds on his very good Eurobasket showing)

I don't think we can realistically get a much better haul if we opt to tank mid season, but then again, I don't have voodoo magic like Masai.

The 2014 pick is the only incentive and it would probably be the only reason why I would considering doing that trade.

Vesely is just an energy big and all he did was regain his confidence at the Eurobasket. He still can't hit FT's and scores mostly off the ball. Not really a decent prospect because energy bigs aren't hard to find.

Not much more, no. But he's 22, good PER, and a player that will max out at 7-9 mill. a season at most. I'm in the mindset of tanking and building and he's a nice (not essential) piece to pair with Val long term.

Not every guy needs to be a star/franchise player. And I'm not as high on Ross thus far as I'd like to be and Amir is getting older and logging those minutes after so many years.

Very true, however Thibs wants to keep Deng. And what Thibs wants, Thibs (should) get...

Yeah what I meant was if they absolutely refuse to keep Deng for whatever price he's asking - which is kinda the vibe they were giving off - maybe they settle for someone cheaper like Demar to play beside Butler, since he can play either the 2 or 3.

Yeah, I can see that. However, I don't think DeMar would fit in well beside Butler and Rose and Noah. They'd had no real perimeter presence.
