Not a problem is it, it's a free service that costs a lot of money, has to be paid for somehow!

Well i for one still hope i can skip the ads like i can now. I'm sure most of you know this but for those who don't know, on the recap page if you click a video and an ad starts playing you can simply click the video again and it will play without the ad.

And yes it is a problem because these harmless ads set precedent for the future, i shudder to think about possible new technologies that ad companies will abuse in the coming decades. Also, it's not free seeing as it takes time which is our most valuable commodity. Not to mention it produces stress, just ask yourself what's your general reaction when an ad starts playing? You sigh or swear, unless you're a mindless drone of course.

On topic, great addition but definitely not surprised they won't show fouls...

NBA.com literally just sh*tted on BasketballReference, Synergy, and HoopsData in terms of modern statistics in one friggin year.

The NBA is so good with this kind of stuff. They are like the only major sport league which doesn't not block videos on youtube and now they pull this ****? Crazy

Not really - Basketball-Reerence is still much more user friendly than NBA.com (+ NBA.com has one major flaw in their possessions based stats, so ORtg and DRtg stats from NBA.com are useless) and Synergy has data NBA.com doesn't have (postu-up plays, isolations and so on).

But it all is going in good direction, so good job NBA.com!

F'real...props to the NBA for fully embracing innovative statistical measures and avenues for increasing viewer interaction and understanding. I still prefer Basketball Reference since it is better designed and is much easier to navigate, but NBA.com is certainly marching in the right direction!

So, I just clicked on a random box score and I don't see any links.

Where are you seeing the video link?

u have to go to their stats site, stats.nba.com

here's a direct link to durant's game log:

http://stats.nba.com/playerGameLogs.htm ... PerPage=25

looks like everything that is suppose to have video is now a link that pops a video up. can't play videos where i'm at so can't confirm if they play.

That are 2013 finals game 1 advanced stats on stats.nba.com and according to them Heat ortg in that game was 102.9, while Spurs 102.3. In other words according to stats.nba.com Heat won that game :D

In reality Heat ortg was 103.5, Spurs 108.2

The reason why stats.nba.com is so much off is because they count possessions wrong way: instead of sum possessions of each team and divide by 2 and then calculate ortg/drtg (like Basketball-Reference does) they count each team seperatly and then calculate ortg/drtg.

This is a good thing for basketball discussion.

Really nice job, can't imagine how many resources this is going to take though, modifying videos for hundreds of players.

How does it cost a lot of money? NBA have the video already, they could have a couple hundred high schoolers getting the video clips done for $8 an hour for all we know. You definitely don't need to be an engineer to do it.

Great move by the NBA.

Just finished testing this out, Anthony Davis profile have 90 videos of every shot that he has made from this season. Awesome move by the NBA.
