Given that both Miami and CLE owe their next 1st and I'm going to bother with 2017s for this purpose, it seems like there are five assets in play for a Thad trade in addition to whatever filler comes with. How would people rank the assets between Waiters, Bennett, Lavine, Memphis 1st, or Miami 1st?

To answer my own question, it would be Lavine, Bennett, Memphis 1st, Waiters, Miami 1st. But frankly, I'd probably trade Thad for any of them provided it was only expiring filler added in (i.e., no Martin).

Anyone think we could get Bennett, plus a protected 1st in a 3-way? Or would it have to be one or the other?

I don't think you'll be able to get a real prospect like Bennett or Waiters. Maybe a 1st? Thad is a free agent un 8 months and the TWolves are going to be awful, I don't see how he could have that much value.

In a 3-way it all depends on what Minnesota gets in the whole package. For example, they may be delusional and think they can contend this year(some franchises are this way). If so, getting a package of Wiggins, Thad, a 1st and maybe something else, while the Sixers get Bennett may be enticing to them. The only difference is you swap Thad in for Bennett.

As long as we get some kind of prospect back, I am okay with it. None of the picks will be great (Miami, Cleveland, or Memphis should all be 15-28 level picks..in a currently weaker draft..meh).

Shabazz is the most "likely" easiest get, followed by Bennet, then Waiters, and then LaVine (not happening).

and even then...I don't think it is likely we do much.

The best best case scenario for the Sixers is that they somehow end up with Bennet for Thad. The more likely scenario is Thad and take on a bad contract for a Cavs first which won't be that high because they will be getting Love to go with Lebron and Irving.
The feedback I've received from our fans is they understand we are trying to build something great. Good decisions come from having a broad set of options and making tough calls. We will do it unblinkingly. We have to be willing to take smart risks-Hinkie

Funny to see so many people in favor of getting LaVine now as opposed to getting him in the draft when we should of taken him.

Cleveland in: Love, GR3
Cleveland out: Bennett, Wiggins, Picks (some kind of 1st(s))

Minnesota in: Thad Young, Wiggins, Bennett
Minnesota out: Love, Barea, Mbah a Moute, GR3

Philly in: Mbah a Moute, Barea, Picks (some kind of 1st(s))
Philly out: Thad Young

Minn needs to cut a roster spot since signing GR3 would give them 16 players. Barea is expiring as is Mbah a Moute but he might be able to mentor Embiid since they know each other.

I think this could be pretty close to what will happen. I could see Bennett being sent Philly as their payment for Thad and taking on some contracts instead of picks with the pick or picks going to MN though.

I don't think many people were opposed. Maybe they preferred Saric with the 13th pick, but Lavine was ranked pretty high in our pre-draft sixers board rankings.

EDIT: 17th in a deep draft. Not too bad.

I want us to end up with bennett so bad. Those rebound-push up the court-dunks would be so barkley-esque. Baby Round Mound??

Never saw Lavine play, but I want him based on those dunk videos alone.

I don't want Bennett. Give me Shabazz, a 1st, and some bad contracts

Lazy on my part. Apologies to @Mr_Sixer. Dude who came up with the deal needs to put down the sticks though.

Wonder what Thad's going to be worth. Just unload and let's go.

I think our ability to bring back dead weight might be more valuable. If you combine that with Young, we should expect a pretty decent asset.

I wonder what it would take for the Sixers to trade for Love straight up. If they like Thad, what else could we offer that's better than Cleveland? Next years 1st, MCW, Noel? We have some appealing pieces. What would we be willing to part with to get Love?

Then take Love and trade him to Cleveland for Wiggins.

Who's untouchable if we could land Wiggins?

Given the direction this team is going, I do not understand the love for Anthony Bennett. Are you guys just trying to talk yourselves into liking him?

He is not explosive at all, even when he is in good shape. When he inevitably gets out of shape again, the sleep apnea will do a good job of making it difficult for him to recover.

What makes (some of) you guys think that he is a valuable asset? His turnaround fade-aways in SL? I'd rather keep Thad a year and lose him for "nothing," if it meant showing the younger guys how to succeed in this league.

Nothing short of way too much. Let's keep our main guys and see how it plays out.

That is a good question for conversation. Just very unlikely.
