What a dunk by GOATbrook to beat the clock!

First half stats:

7/13 from the field, 12/13 from the line for 26/2/5 only 1 TO and a + 11.

Hey, I am not gonna overreact at all but this half has made me optimistic that LeBron will have another legit MVP challenger this season. I am all for it. And yes, I am calling him GOATbrook for now (at least until he has his first bad game ).

Turned the Lakers off, and OKC on a few minutes ago. Very happy with my decision.
Now that's the difference between first and last place.

Best half of basketball I've seen him play.

Looked like a young smaller more selfish version of Lebron out there.

And that's as big a compliment as I can give.

I'm in slight disbelief right now, and I'm his biggest homer fan. Amazing dunk to end the half.

Basically a mini-Jordan? :D

The fire in him really reminds me of MJ.

Probably a bit too soon, but is 30ppg on 60 TS% possible while KD is out?

Naw, seeing how shorthanded they are I think that's a bit too optimistic. There will be games where he will be tired and as the team's primary option I can see more teams packing the paint against him and letting him beat them with his jumper. Can't do that when KD is on the floor but Russ alone isn't going to be that efficient IMO.

No way is he managing 60 TS%. Never even done 55 TS% in his career with KD. 30ppg may be on the low end though :o :o :o

Well, that went downhill fast. Still amazing game for Russ, but man thats deflating. Wish Brooks woulda rode the starters and just gave tomorrow's game up. Looks like 0-2 to start.

Id be shocked if he was anywhere near that efficient
i think 54ts is more likely. Im surprised with some of the calls he got he was aggressive and deserved most of them but he doesnt get those calls when Kds playing too.

And Ibaka had almost no impact on this game. Dude is gonna get exposed badly

Overreaction on my part. :-)

30ppg on 55TS% will be my prediction.

Russ can be so boneheaded defensively. There were 2 straight plays that he completely left his man in an attempt for a hero steal that led to an open three. Terrible way to end an otherwise great game.

I think GOATbrook was tired by the 4th and Brooks probably kept him out on the bench a minute or two too long. That being said he does have the tendency to go for the flashy steal and leave his man. He needs to cut down on that.

There are ppl that seem to think hes an Allstar caliber player and top 10 power forward........hes a glorified role player. Cant even catch the ball half the time, has a good midrange shot that he can only hit when he is wide open, no post game, no playmaking/passing skills, cant drive, isnt the best finisher, onedimensional on defense (ppl think hes a Dpoy candidate). Hes good at what he does and a great role player, just not as good as advertised

I don't think he's a top 10 PF, because he is a 3rd option. Millsap made the allstar team in the East with comparable stats.
The guy just averaged 15ppg(58% TS), 9rpg, 3bpg. Attained a 19.6 PER, 9.6 WS, and .173 WS/48 ratings for the season.

Ibaka shoots 46%(16<3 feet) and 49%(10-16 feet) in midrange spots. Ibaka finishes 73% of his shots from 0-3 feet, Griffin finishes 74% there.

Ibaka allows 45% on OppFGA at the rim(lower than Noah's) on 9 attempts per game.

He is one dimensional now? Did he not just anchor the 6th best defense in the league(the 4th in 2013). Did he not play great defense on Marc Gasol and Griffin in the Playoffs? Did you not see the way San Antonio were destroying us in the paint before Ibaka came back in game 3?

Out of all the shot blockers in the Ibaka leads them in possessions retained by their respective teams(instead of it going back to the Opp or it going out of bounds). 68% of the time Ibaka blocks a shot the Thunder get the ball back, which leads to fast breaks and new possessions, the next best percentage was 62%.

Davis was the only player in the league to average more than 15ppg, 8rpg, 2.5bpg. Ibaka beat Davis by 1.2 points in DWS, and was behind Davis in WS by 0.8 points. I am in no way saying Ibaka is as good as Davis.

More interested wheter he can keep his turnover rate this low instead of shooting 60% ts. Would be a nice thing if he could keep a high FTr.
