He's 21. Twenty-one. This will happen.

I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a single player (since steals and blocks were officially recognized) to record 10 steals and 10 blocks, in SEPARATE games at that (as career highs). So forget about a quintuple-double or any other type of double including BOTH steals and blocks.

If Hakeem didn't I doubt anybody ever did since all stats are recorded.
Nevermind Hakeem had a game against the Sonics where he had this statline :
38pts-17rbs-6ast-12blks-7stls. That's just ridiculous

I know he played 53 minutes but that's still amazing.

No, I can't see him racking up the assists to do it. Not at this stage of his development cycle and not with this Pelicans squad. Points, blocks and rebounds? Absolutely possible. He'll have at least 1 triple double of this kind this year.
Steals? Not a chance.

He could, but he'd likely need a generous score keeper and some luck. A situation when he is dominating the offensive glass and kicking it out to a red hot Ryno who's knocking it down off the pass. Plus a few generous outlet passes to a streaking player that the score keeping gifts to him as an assist.
I agree with few other though that he has plenty big point/rebound 5*5 nights in his future.

maybe in an overtime game, but otherwise doubt it.

He actually does. He played as a PG for years before he had a massive growth spurt, that's pretty much where his guard like agility comes from. He has showcased his passing ability before but currently isn't playing in a system where he can dictate the plays. It definitely is possible for him to have 10+ assists in a game.

Pels fan and I love Davis, but I'd like to see him record a Triple Double before we start talking Quad Doubles.
I don't think he ever gets the Quad Double, but I do see him filling up the stat sheet and having a few 5x5s a year.

Manute Bol had 8 games of 10+ blocks and 3 or less points

As hard as it is to get the assists what's even harder is getting 10+ blocks in the same game while getting those 10+ assists. I don't know how many times David has recorded a 10+ block game but I'm quite sure it would be very hard and unlikely to have a 10 block game the exact same game he might possibly hit 10+ assists. I could almost see him finally hitting 10+ assists but not getting the 10 blocks in that game.

I don't think he is a good enough passer but maybe with 10 turnovers in the mix. If I had to put money on it I would take Rondo to do it next out of the current batch of players.

You may not realize this, but Davis' turnover rate is ridiculously low. Among the lowest for a big man posting his stats in the history of the league.

At the moment Anthony Davis is closer to recording a quadruple double with steals and blocks instead of blocks and assists, although it's damn near impossible to acquire one with steals and blocks.
Exactly and that's what I was implying. Not that he could get a quintuple double, but that he may be more likely to get the quadruple with steals instead of assists. Obviously this is extremely unlikely and would perhaps be the best one-game statistical accomplishment in sports history, but it isn't completely inconceivable that he could do something like that in the best game of his career one day.

You guys are overreacting. The plethora of Davis talk is deserved, not unlike other players who are only talked about because of some off court theatric or something they said on twitter.
I have nothing against Davis but the Davis hype train on this board has gotten a bit ridiculous, and I'm damn sure more than a few people think so.
Seriously, let's wait until he's AT LEAST putting up a PER of 36 before crowning him.

I am repeating myself but please read my comment from earlier on - no player since steals and blocks were recorded officially has had 10+ blocks and 10+ steals even in separate games! Meaning, if someone's career high is 10+ blocks, his career high in steals is less than 10 and vice versa. Imagine how likely it would be that someone gets 10+ blocks and 10+ steals on the same night.
Davis has already displayed an ability to get 10+ blocks (it is all but inevitable that he will get there at some point) so history and maths suggest he will probably never get 10+ steals, ever. And if he somehow does, the chances are astronomical that it coincides with a 10+ block outing.

I've seen Iverson and Curry credited with triple doubles with turnovers if my memory serves me well, so I don't see why that wouldn't be the case for a quad-double...
