With Rubio's injury, Minnesota ought to be #1 on the list of sellers. Good youth, don't need the vets now

I'd like to see the Celtics be sellers.

I don't know if I can see a trade out there (unless an unexpected star comes on the market) that would put the Celtics past first round fodder for the legitimate contenders in the East. I do think there are at least 3 guys on the Celtics roster that could be great additions for certain teams to bolster their bench at the deadline.

I desperately want to see Jeff Green play on a competitive team. I've thought and claimed for a long time now that Green would really make a difference as a 3rd/4th option for one of the many SF starved teams out there and so far this season he's looked strong. I think Charlotte/NO/Portland/Memphis/OKC are all teams that could be potential fits (not saying they'd be interested in trading for him, just that I'd like to see him get a chance on those teams).

Marcus Thornton and Brandon Bass are both expiring bench vets that can be effective in a very specific role. Thornton has shown he can be a scorer off the bunch and when he gets hot he can occasionally make an even larger impact. Bass is a pick and pop PF, who hustles and plays solid man up defense. Neither are anything special, but both have a useful enough skillset and low enough price tag that I think they'd be valuable to certain clubs.

I'm down on Evan Turner. I've seen a lot more of him this year than in years past and I think he might be destined to be a volume scorer for bad teams, but maybe there is a coach out there that could be interested.

Obviously Rondo would be a huge coup for any team, but I really don't have a feel for where the organization is with regards to him. I don't expect to hear much on that front until well after Christmas. I like Rondo and want to see him stick around, but if the right offer is on the table and Ainge thinks Rondo could walk, I'd be fine with them making a move.

This trade works with GS not sure if either team would be happy in this trade
GS Trades Lee, Livingston,Speights & Barnes
Toronto trades Fields, Hayes, Amir, Vasquez & Hansbrough

All Toronto players except Vasquez are expiring contracts and only Speights is a team option.
GS get a good PF in Amir
Couldn't be made till December 15th and obviously Lee must be healthy

Leto wrote:I think you can safely put GSW as sellers. But more than that, I think they'll be looking to dump salary. My prediction is the GSW will be one of the few teams in the league looking to dump salary by the deadline and here's why.

After debating Iggy with GSW fans, I started looking at their salaries and realized that signing Klay to that extension will put them right at the tax line next season. That means they cannot pay Green next summer and stay under the tax line if they don't dump salary. So, I poked around a bit and voila:

Warriors fans are thinking they should trade Iggy. I think they should try to dump Lee. Either way, it's going to be a salary dump, it has to happen before the deadline and they will likely have to use Barnes and/or picks to make it happen. If I were a betting man, I'd say the sharks like the Knicks are already in the water.
Not sure GSW can deal Iggy for basically cap space.. or would do a Lee for cap space deal. Add in Barnes..screw that. GSW will pay Lux penalties if need be. With Iggy and Lee both over 30, over $10 mill... they are not a value to the weak teams able to take on salary. GSW.. meanwhile.. sees this as an opportunity to reach the West finals..or more. I assume Lee, who's soon active.. is mportant to plans. Iggy..a bit less so. That can change though. I may not be typical but.. I would trade Iggy for.. SOME purposes. I doubt a major $$ dump works. I won't add Barnes or GSW's '15 pick. If I get a player I like..save a few $.. okay.

The GSW front office.. currently.. seems to LIKE the roster, in general, LIKE what stability/chemistry they have.

I think GS will be aggressive by the deadline since OKC and Clippers are a little down. Toronto has the right pieces and is in the same position this year. Iggy and David Lee are older than the rest of the core.

Not a chance GSW does this. They will see Hayes and Fields as contract baggage. They need Lee + Speights more than Amir and Hansborough. Barnes.. is starting and doing fine. So.. the W's ain't losing 2 starters and a hot C/F backup to jusat flip PG backups. Maybe it cuts some salary next year.. but ..so what. We are okay. 8-)

With Kevin Martin joining Rubio on the injured list, I think Flip will be forced to abandon his dual goals of making the playoffs and rebuilding, and may have become a clear seller today.
