I'm starting to like Wright more & more, so I'd go with him out of this group of players.

You could play Wright at the 1 or the 2 as a defensive stopper.

Shouldn't draft for need on a team that got swept in the first round. He's the most talented available so.you select him. Plus hes going to replace Trashquez it's a win-win

When you are drafting at 20 you also have to consider "fit". Especially if the plan is to continue to try to get further into the playoffs.

I don't expect to draft a superstar at 20.

This team needs some elite defenders more than anything.

Then you will like Grant, he is an excellent defender.

I feel that the raptors will probably trade to acquire a new PF and possibly and a free agent SF so it makes sense to draft a point guard since we will probably lose Vasquez.

I have a hard time deciding between Grant or Wright what makes either player better than the other?

I think you toss a coin on those two and still come out a winner. Wright is the one that will most certainly be there and his skillset is perfect for the second unit. He is elite in a number of areas. He likely will grab more boards than Patterson.

I voted for Justin Anderson. He's not going to be a star player but he'll end up being a guy that can knock down the three and be able to guard the best perimeter player on the other team. I could see him being a good power forward when we play small ball and he could end up being a poor man's kawhi leonard. The only knock against him is that he can't dribble, he can literally do everything else.

Anderson can shoot, he has a massive wingspan, he's strong, very athletic, and he's still pretty young. The Raptors have too many guys that need the ball in their hands. Grabbing a guy like Grant would be a bad idea when you have multiple players that require the ball from DeRozan, Vasquez, Lou, Lowry, and even Valanciunas. I rather get a guy that can be a two way player and be effective without the ball.

Return to Toronto Raptors
