He's obviously a good player and a > 40% 3 point shooter, but he's going to be 28 next season so his age doesn't fit with our core at all.

So basically he's in the same situation as Noel, just he plays a position of need and is 28.

Teague is a worse player than Noel. Noel is elite at what he does, Teague is who you'll find when you look up the word mediocre.

Nerlens Noel will boost ATLs defense by miles.

Not quite. Noel is a RFA and this will be his first extension.

Not sure if picks could help that much, but they have a 2018-20 minny protected pick and their own picks so some mediocre picks could be possible. Not aware of any young gems on their roster.

Jeff Teague is a good player, but he's a dime a dozen talent at his position.

The decision to move Noel is a gross mistake.

Hopefully this is just an agenda-based leak to get a deal involving Okafor done.

I just think that Teague is only barely above the quality of player that you could actually get in FA. So why give up Noel?

I would be far more intrigued (although hardly excited) if the deal was centered around Schroeder, rather than Teague. I guess it depends what the other parts of deal are, but hardly seems like great value on its own.

Any chance it's bigger than the two and we get Korver off a down year as well? Or Timmy also down year?

Like nerlens and 26 for Teague and Korver ?

Nerlens value has to be higher than Teague they need something else and I don't know if #21 is enough... I'd welcome Korver back haha

Point being, Noel will have to be resigned and likely at a 15-20 mil a year price tag.

With Embiid/Okafor, I don't think it's necessarily smart to spend that type of money on someone to be a backup, not to mention he likely won't be too happy with that role either.

Like it or not, we have a glut of bigs and some of them are going to be moved. We are not keeping all 3 long term.

Teague can ball. Wouldn't be mad at all. I rather keep Okafor anyways.

Why trade Noel for a 1 year rental of Teague? 29 year old Teague isn't going to stick around on a 10 win team and babysit the rookies. He is going to move on after his deal is up and sign with a contender. If no one wants to give up anything of value for Noel, then trade him to TOR for the #9 pick and draft Wade Baldwin. At least get a guy who won't bounce after 1 year.

Teague played off the ball plenty with schroeder. I dont think this deal is bad at all as long as we arent giving up high picks. Teague is a good shooter and scorer, turning 28 is far from old. We are done tanking so get out of that mindset. We need good players now. Getting an established player like teague could help with FAs as well. Noel has no future with emboid simmons and okafor on this team and even saric

I get that he only made it because of team success, but the guy was an All Star last year. Not exactly trash. Good defender. Can play on and off the ball. Just a very solid player who could be a great fit at the 1 with Simmons.

That being said... I don't love giving up Nerlens for him, particularly with him being in the last year of his deal.

I really hope this doesn't happen, I actually want us to deal Noel and keep Jah but not for 28 year old Teague in a contract year. This is what we've all been worried would happen since BC came on, we need to remain patient and build the right way. This screams we want to win more games right now, and that's not what we need to do. I wouldn't have a problem with Noel and a late 1st for Schroder, but Teague just doesn't fit what we need right now. PG is the deepest position right now and honestly there shouldn't be any rush to immediately round out the roster before our expected core pieces even play. Ugh this doesn't sit well with me.
