Taurean Prince
Fellas, we can re-hash the past again and again from this point forward (in the discussion), it honestly doesn't matter to me anymore. The past is the past.
I just hope (and made my post with the hopes in mind) that Bud won't treat Prince the same as he did the many others, and that he gives him that real opportunity to crack he rotation. I mean he's a 4-year college player who IMO could be a Demarre Carroll type for us from the get go. It would give our wing rotation a shot of adrenalin if he can contribute.

Re: Taurean Prince
The past is the past in the terms that we don't have guys coming in to fit in the old system. After all, Bud didn't have Sap or DeMarre start their tenure on the bench in large part because Bud built his system around their talents. I'm sure he's not going to expect Dwight to come in and learn all the old concepts, he's going to build something nearly from the ground up that incorporates the talents of all of the current acquisitions so the rookies and Hardaway Jr. should have every opportunity to contribute from the beginning.

I think Budz will limit him to 22-25 minutes in the first year. to both, protect his health and give him time to learn the system.
Now THAT is a bold prediction...

The summer league roster has Bembry with #43, and Prince with #12

Can't see Prince being #12 when the season starts.

Prince is currently on the SL team using #12.
I wouldn't be surprised if he got serious minutes immediately at the start of the season. He looks comfortable in SL in his debut.

So do you think Dwight Howard will be coming off the bench for limited minutes this season while he gets acclimated? Perhaps backing up Tiago?

Considering hes never averaged less than 29.7 minutes per game (even in a year where he was struggling with injuries all season) i think thats pretty insane to think we:
A) Signed a "star" to play backup minutes
B) Let Horford go for a guy who we dont plan on playing a lot
C) We trust Tiaggo Splitter who has NEVER BEEN HEALTHY at the starting C spot.
Nah man, they signed D12 to be THE MAN. hes going to get 30-35 minutes a game, DS and Baze are calling this DWIGHTS TEAM. Dwight wont need to get used to the system, hes not a shooter. they are going to run PNRs and low post plays for him. All he has to do is protect the pain and set screens.

In Prince's 2nd game, he got 21 points and got to the line alot. I'm really impressed with his IQ so far.

In the first half of the second round tournament game, I'm really liking what I'm seeing from Prince. He's stepped up as the leader of this SL squad, and has shown a great ability to put the ball on the floor and create his own shot.

Re: Taurean Prince
Prince looks like a stronger, healthier, and more athletic Demarre. Just needs to develop a more consistent 3pt shot. He may not have the length of Bazemore, but he has a better chance of guarding the power 3s of the league with his size

Prince has that look in his face of a determined and motivated player it usually bodes well for the future.
I think he can be an all-star and his defense could be special.

Prince has a standing reach the same as Paul George.

Re: Taurean Prince
Bleacher Report runs a scouting report on a few top draftees and what could limit their immediate impact in the league thias year:
HereKnocks on Taurean Prince
•Lacks shot-creating and playmaking ability
Where it hurts him: Offensive value, upside
Prince's NBA body, three-point shooting stroke and defensive versatility sold the Atlanta Hawks. But unless he makes a dramatic change, his role will only grow so much.
His handle is fairly basic, which limits his shot-creating ability. Prince struggles to separate and make jumpers when forced to score one-on-one with pull-ups and step-backs.
And though he can slice to the rack with line drives and Eurosteps in the open floor, Prince won't get there by shaking and baking off the dribble against a set half-court defense.
Opponents must pressure him around the perimeter and keep him from getting open spot-ups or balanced, rhythm jumpers off screens. Taking those away eliminates Prince as a threatening scorer.

How many minutes do you expect him to get?

I'd be surprised if he ends up being a consistent rotation player to start. Budenholzer has never played his rookies very much, but due to his defensive prowess he might end up getting some decent bench minutes in the 2nd half of the season. That would be my guess at least.

Did you like what you saw in preseason from him? I just added him to my fantasy squad (it's a dynasty league so long term and keepers) after contemplating between him and Caris LeVert. BIG league...16 teams..so very deep.
